Next video app for this phone: video input. This would involve plugging the phone into your Windows Media Center PC or TiVo, or making a wireless connection to it via Bluetooth/WiFi, and letting it suck up whatever video content is residing in there. Kids would clamor for such an app. May be more shit for the MPAA/RIAA to deal with, but what the heck.
That's definitely a moblogger's tool. Mobloggers (voyeurs especially) could easily trade video with each other and dump it onto videotape or VCD. Heck, this is the stuff of cable TV!
Ahem! Other way around, my friend. PSP is built more like a cell phone (albeit horizontal layout, and with no mike), so running communications apps on it would make sense. Nintendo's dual-screen idea just KILLS any communications possibilities outside gaming.
Now if Nokia would get the A/V innards in the N-Gage QD up to par, they'd definitely have a PSP contender unlike Nintendo.
Well, since Sony's already sorta' doing this on the PSP (and they've got the better hardware for it IMHO), I don't think Nintendo's gonna' try this anytime soon. Not unless they want to again revamp their entire portable architecture which would of course hike up the price of this thing which would in turn bring it out of kids' price range.
Yeah, no kidding. You just know that they'll just poo-poo this idea when it comes to music file sharing. The RIAA and its members have apparently become sacred cows unfortunately. Kudos to the MPAA and FCC though.
So what's iRiver's IHP120/140 like? Those are the ones I've had my eye on as of lately. I've heard that the HD in them is a bit noisy but you can avoid the noise when recording by using an external mike. Optical audio input and OGG file record/playback also look like nice features. So what's the battery life like on these and how fast is the file conversion?
...and for that matter, Thunderbird, the companion e-mail app, isn't compatible with Sony Clie's e-mail conduit. I have to use either Eudora or MS Outlook on my desktop to get e-mail on my Clie. Since this Outlook/MSIE bruhaha has been going on I've been struggling with Eudora, one of the worst desktop e-mail apps there is IMHO. Mozilla's e-mail clien't isn't compatible with the Clie e-mail conduit either. This sucks!!
Yeah, looks lke Tech Live got axed too. Heck! That was like the Headline News of the tech biz. Speaking of which, CNN's tech-related news articles have been produced by TechTV these past few years. You've gotta' wonder if they'll be doing that anymore.
I'll tell ya' what's next, shopping malls. Mall St. Matthews in Louisville, KY has a Panera Bread location inside with free wi-fi access. Thing of it is, the WAP in there has a strong enough signal to cover the entire wing of the mall where it's located.
This wing also happens to include an Applebees restaurant and the wi-fi signal is plenty strong enough to reach into the bar in there. They must have a Linksys signal booster hooked up to that WAP or something.
Could this be the return of the Video Watchman? It'd have to have the following features: a tuner, at least a 3.5" screen, output to a larger TV, accept UMD compatible media.
I don't see what the RIAA/MPAA's problem with this thing is either. Sony seems to be afraid of the 'big bad wolf' here and if they don't get started on this project, Apple is sure to do something similar to this, think iVision.
OpenOffice is just fine without all that database app stuff that StarOffice has. I do all my data processing in OpenOffice's spreadsheet app and it suits me just fine.
Now that Samsung has brought recording features to the table, this RAM-based stuff is really gonna' take off again. Being able to digitally record off the radio sounds really awesome, that's eventually gonna' be a potential file-sharing killer.
My cousin, a 16-year-old girl, is quite a Tomb Raider fan. Tomb Raider also seems to be popular with girls these days. I guess any game where the main character is female would attract girls.
Well, we news media type use text messaging to alert us to news events happening in the area. Comes in handy when we can't be listening to our scanners.
I know it's a battery hog but as for the signal strength issue on broadcast TV reception you might want to give your R3 a better antenna. If you are particularly aiming for UHF stuff, get one of those 800 Mhz antennas.
Universal Radio and Grove Enterprises are good places to go for stuff like that.
The RIAA/MPAA couldn't care less about no-name companies like this. They probably don't even have a clue about whether or not this thing really works. Let the FTC deal with 'em.

New York City (WCBS 2/WWOR 9)
Los Angeles (KCBS 2/KCOP 13)
Chicago (WBBM 2/WPWR 50)
Boston (WBZ 4/WSBK 38)
Dallas-Fort Worth (KTVT 11/KTXA 18)
These are the only ones I can remember right now.

Nah, you know what'd be REALLY cool? How 'bout MacOS on a PS2 or PSX? I mean if PS2 is already running Linux, MacOS shouldn't be too far fetched.
The retracting keypad resembles that of Sharp's PDAs, if only it were a full keypad instead of just the numeric portion.

Star aint free! It's Ooo that's free. You have to decide which of StarOffice's features you want because Ooo doesn't have all of 'em.
