  1. What about the human brain on Sony Develops TVs That Zoom in for True Close-ups · · Score: 1

Doesn't the brain do this to some extent?

  2. how you'd protect the DNA from radiation... on ESA's Scientist Suggests A Noah's Ark On the Moon · · Score: 1

How about just reference the patterns without the actual molecules. AKA print out a hard copy.

  4. Heart on Loud Music Can Cause Lung Collapse · · Score: 1

I had heard that 10hz (not sure if that's right, it's awful low) at the proper (rather improper) volume could send your heart into arrhythmia. Can anyone back this up? What about Cartman's "Brown noise" =)

  5. Darwin at work on Loud Music Can Cause Lung Collapse · · Score: 1

Sounds like natural selection to me. Guess to the "victim" it sounds like... Thump Thump Bang RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGGG cough cough cough dead.

  6. Anyone has the right to film public places on Britain is the World's Surveillance Leader · · Score: 1

Just seems like a basic freedom to me. If it's a true public area (not a restroom), then you should be able to film it. Does the government not have the same right? I imagine that since the government is made up of individuals, they have the same right. Help me see the other side of this.

  7. Futurama Reference... on Shrimp-Based Bandages Save Lives · · Score: 3, Funny

  10. I think you've got it. on Solder in Space · · Score: 2, Informative

To add to it, as it spins around, the leading edge is cooled more than the trailing edge, therefore keeping one side hotter than the other, letting the vapor jet propel it around vs jittering.

  11. Are you saying security isn't an issue here? on Semper WiFi · · Score: 1

Hmmm, do you think that sending information about soldiers in a particular unit, their kids names, wife's names, possibly home addresses, other personal information is ok? Heck, what about hidden truck/car/donkey cart bomb linked to a laptop running network stumbler waiting for the right signal strength? It's easy to overlook the nasty possibilities of how this could be used against our troops, but this should be thought through completely. I think that the military should provide SECURE connectivity to the soldiers for the purpose of family communication thus promoting morale so that more dangerous insecure methods aren't relied on.

A telescope or transit tripod. You're going to be a little obvious pointing any object that looks like a rifle at someone only 50' away. Especially in an urban area. I would also imagine that the weight is more than it needs to be, since the stock and grip are designed to resist the kick. It still gets "cool points" in my book though. Parhaps it would work out better to build a directional antenna within a telescope or transit, so as to be a little more inconspicuous.

My X10 remote uses RF (not sure what band) and is "universal" but it doesn't have DVR functtions or PIP. My Sat Receiver is UHF but its remote doesn't have X10 functions, and is the wrong band for my X10 receiver.
When they make a remote that will handle my VCR, my X10 wall wart receiver, 2 Sat receivers set at different IDs 1 is a DVR, my TV, my PC, and have an SSH client. Oh, and all of my entertainment equipment other functions, then, I'll pay $701 dollars.
