You're kidding yourself if you think Apple doesn't wield huge bargaining power for their business. I believe Apple can purchase a finished good for under $500 if their component cost estimate of $370 is accurate.
Well - 1st off this species originated in tropical and sub-tropical Asia.. so the more arid western states probably do not have a mosquito problem to begin with. 2nd, southern states that do not experience prolonged sub-freezing temperatures probably have a much larger rate of infection. That right there condenses the areas that could use this "treatment".
They are only releasing the mosquitoes with the naturally occurring bacteria, they aren't really genetically modified. Think of it more as selective breeding aimed at controlling this aggressive mosquito.

The current iteration of the universe is not infinite, which you state. So it's completely plausible the universe has always existed but it goes through "rebirth" every few trillion "years". Maybe the big bang that started our universe was the infinity + 1 big bang that happened.

I have family in Japan - there are legitimate concerns about missiles flying over their country. They have enough to worry about with earthquakes, volcanoes, typhoons, nuclear plant meltdown.. missiles from N. Korea is a bit over the top.
Russia - they invaded Ukraine and still occupy part of it. They are just as active covertly in the affairs of every government as the US is. To them, it must be funny watching a significant portion of Americans deny reality because "their guy" won the election.
Now I don't believe their meddling in the election had a big impact.. Hillary just isn't a likable person. Did it sway some votes... probably.. was it enough to change the outcome? Highly unlikely. Hillary still got more votes, just not in the places she needed them.
I'm not against disabling phones when moving at a certain rate of speed... however it's an interesting thought.
I'm 38 - I grew up before cell phones, let alone smart phones, were basically a necessity. I still do not understand why people cannot drive 10 minutes without having to be connected.
Uh, who modded this as troll? I'm in the US. If you do not have a living will, the government can put your assets in a trust and your beneficiaries end up paying a significant "fee" to get them back.
It's much better to have a will on file.

If we started producing PV roof panels to deliver the power directly to the home, you would eliminate the power loss via cable transfer that currently exists. That would make up a large portion of the overall gap in efficiency.
The problem in the US right now is that many people on both sides of the political spectrum pick one issue they care about and choose a candidate simply because of that. There's a large subset of Americans that only care about the 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms (own guns). They don't give a shit about the rest of our Bill of Rights as long as they keep their guns. On the other side, there are people that want open borders hell or high water.
These people are lost to reason. There can be no compromise.
I'm stuck in the middle, however we're such a minority now and also relatively soft spoken that our opinions are washed out. The talking heads want controversy.. if the people are too busy fighting with each other we'll never see how terrible our elected officials are. If Trump wants to drain the swamp, term limits are needed for Congress.
Less than 12 hours and the political blame game already well underway.
Can we all just agree the guy was a fucked up human.... I just wish people that miserable would just use one bullet into their brain instead of killing innocent people as well.
Trump acting to silence them is, imo, crossing the line. The constitution protects us from the government. This wouldn't be a big issue out trump didn't fan the flames
