  1. Sorry I can't take you back in time but your "extremely unlikely" happened. Our valedictorian and salutitorian were both starters on the soccer team that was one of the top in the region. Number 3 was 3rd singles on the tennis team that qualified for state in the division for the largest schools. I played soccer and more than half the team routinely made the principal's list (3.75 or higher).

I think you let football players negatively impact your thoughts on the matter. No doubt it's unlikely they would collectively have a high gpa.

I'm surprised you didn't take your conspiracy theory one step farther and claim it wasn't actually a missile from N. Korea, but one launched from a US submarine in conjunction with the Japanese government to stir up anti N. Korea sentiment.

Back to reality, the whole event didn't take very long. You honestly believe there was enough time for the government to assemble and collude on something such as this?

  6. I've always thought military parades were a very bad idea for that very reason. However a pre-eminent strike that also kills thousands of innocent civilians is not going to win you much support.

Anything that happens, Seoul will be leveled by traditional artillery. The NK leadership must know that any military conflict is a suicide mission and they simply want to inflict as much damage as they can.

Minimum wage has lagged so far behind inflation and it's no surprise the wealth gap of the country continues to increase.

The issue is they cannot afford to have someone cause an accident while working and being under the influence at the same time. Drug tests are not good enough (while being quick and cheap) to know if the person smoked weed on Saturday night or 30 minutes before their shift began.

The real issue is that people don't want to bust their ass 40+ hours per week for $12/hr because they know it may barely cover the bills... even in an area such as this that has relatively low living expenses. Who really wants to work that much per week and not at least have enough cash to be able to enjoy the weekends?

Are universities more liberal? Absolutely. You have thousands of young people experiencing life and "freedom" for the first time, experimenting with sex, drugs, and alcohol. I have worked from home twice, both times because I had someone coming to fix something at my house. While I was able to keep up with my emails much easier, I was unable to push the needle on any projects.
