Yet somehow Japan has managed to have very effective subway systems all over the country while being far more seismically active.
You're correct in that he just can't start boring tunnels wherever he pleases. However if you do it correctly, the tunnel is going to be extremely strong and stable.
I'd have to go back and search but wasn't the original plan simply to build a tunnel connecting a couple parking lots so his employees could park their cars and have a relatively easy walk to get inside the building?
I'm not sure the extend of Musk's boring machine but the ones they use to dig tunnels through mountains also reinforce the walls at the same time. So from a traffic and environmental standpoint.. not sure there's much to study.
Seriously? Have you traveled to many other countries (if you're in the EU, other EU countries do not count)?
whenever I travel internationally, there is always some procedures I must follow. I don't know of any country (other than driving over the border into Canada) where I can just show up and cross over because I feel like it. I've been to Europe (England, France, Germany), S. America (Brazil, Argentina), multiple Caribbean countries, Mexico, China, S. Korea, and Japan.
Every single one has rules for entry, some require Visas.
I'm not sure that's completely true. There are some prominent Republicans that clearly are still at odds with the Trump administration (Ryan and Kasich to name 2) but the unfortunate reality is that Trump is President. Unlike what the GOP did to Obama (which was to fuck around simply to fuck him over) they don't want to seem as obstructionists, leaving that to Democrats this cycle.
Besides that old fart Reid I really haven't seen anyone else bending over for Trump so far.
It would be nice if we had rules in congress that the makeup had to be similar to actual demographics of the country. Enough of these old white men making the rules (fwiw, I'm middle aged white man). Impossible to enact but would be nice to see.
Undisputed facts? Obama directly confronted Putin about the cyber activities and in turn ordered US intelligence to plant "spyware" that could be used in retaliation. It is true he tried to keep it under wraps, though.
Remember, they asked Republican controlled congress to investigate but they refused.
Be careful what you label as "undisputed facts"...
You mean like how Trump used Breitbart "news" to spread mostly false information?
The worst thing about Trump is that he's guilty of everything he complains about on twitter. People affiliated with a political party always ignore the hypocrisy of their representatives...
What does it hurt them, though? I haven't checked if Amazon already had rights to stream that content but it's not like they have to take other channels off the air in order to show this.
Ohio's treasurer, Josh Mandel, made that statement not the hackers.
I'm from Ohio, our slogan use to be "Ohio, the heart of it all". The state is also shaped a bit like a heart.
The statement is nothing more than Republicans here drumming up the fear. "Oh no they hacked our website probably from thousands of miles away and that's an attack on our freedom!"
We have a large population of old white people who eat this stuff up. Mandel is simply campaigning for votes.
We have two cats. One of the cats will routinely "act out" to get attention.. from playing with the blinds or wires (she's a wire chewer) or jumping in front of the tv while it is on. I always joke that this cat is a perpetual 2 year old. Pushing the boundary to get what she wants.
Off topic but fitting anecdote. Last week I saw a guy wearing a "Raptor Run 5k" t-shirt that was sponsored by the creation museum. Of course the graphic on the t-shirt was a man riding on a dinosaur.
Really, you turn that into jealousy.. a silly statement? Maybe if you go read the GP's post, you'll understand why I opened my post that way. I'm happy with my life. Everyone would like more money but my family has a very high quality of life and I'm not going to complain about that.
Now, since you completely ignored the entire point of my post, I will say it again. It is better for society, in general, if everyone has affordable access to basic health care. Preventative costs are lower than reactive costs.. and that is hold true for just about everything in life. People do not need to deserve the opportunity to see a doctor, it should just be available.
Next time read through everything before you feel like ranting. The child of a poor farmer should be able to get the same basic health care as a child of a millionaire.. that's my point.
Loopholes are "legal" so I'm not going to argue that point. There are far more loopholes available to those who have significant income.
Of course I take every tax deduction available and somehow I still seem to pay more tax than these large corporations:).
Doing something that is legal does not necessarily make it the right thing to do. If exploiting a loophole obviously bypasses the spirit of the law, it's something we should address and fix. Civilized living cannot exist with excessive greed, everyone must understand their is a need to contribute to the "greater good".
I don't have a good solution for the issue. Maybe tie the tax rate to the pay ratio of executive salaries to average worker salaries.. if your CEO makes 50x more than the average employee.. you pay more taxes. I just think if you lower corporate taxes, you need to make sure the money just isn't funneled directly to the top. Income inequality continues to worsen.
I really don't understand your point. Did Donald Trump deserve to be born into a wealthy family? What about Paris Hilton?
Preventative care is much cheaper for taxpayers than reactive care. To me, it seems like common sense to give everyone free access to routine checkups. I have pretty decent health insurance and even I end up paying a couple hundred dollars per year in preventative check-ups. If my annual blood work caught something early, that is going to reduce the overall cost of treatment.
Even though it's completely off-topic, I agree insurance premiums for doctors are ridiculously high.
I simply pointed out 3/4ths of registered Americans did not vote for him, so he didn't start out with huge support.. even many in his "own party" didn't outright support him.
Your entire post seems based on me being a HRC fan. I don't support Hillary. The two I would have liked see win the primaries were Sanders and Kasich because they seemed like the only two who act like adults.
Trump is full of shit, you don't need state-driven media to realize it. The guy is a salesman, that's it. Hillary had the most non-genuine personality.. completely scripted and fake. It's unfortunate the DNC forced such a flawed personality to the front.
Just curious, how was Yahoo doing before they hired her?
Blaming her for the fall of Yahoo is like blaming the guy trying to keep the Titanic afloat by bailing water with a bucket.. Yahoo hit that iceberg long before she came on board.
Now that she lost, they are sabotaging the actual winner with this unending allusions and unstated allegations and innuendo â" to slow him down and prevent him from implementing, what the voters voted for.
Did you type this with a straight face?
Trump is sabotaging himself. Also, maybe he should have been a bit more careful with his birther talk and crooked Hillary talk.
The biggest issue with Trump not getting his way is that in reality, not that many voting age Americans actually cast their vote for him. He clearly lost the popular vote (I know it doesn't matter and I'm not complaining about it) but he only received 26% of the registered voter votes. That means nearly 75% of registered voters did not vote for him.
So let's not pretend the guy swept into the Oval Office on a wave of public support and is only flailing around because Democrats are repeatedly bringing up Russia.. it has about as much impact as the birther movement during Obama's entire 8 year tenure. Please remember Republican's only goal was to oppose everything from Obama.. and they said it publicly.
We basically have a bunch of spoiled, entitled brats in Washington.. and most will get reelected.
I'm O- and RSV- (i think that's the virus) so my blood is earmarked for children's hospitals. I would be upset if some person, who is doing it for their vanity, purchased it.
Now if it was about to expire, then I'd give up my objections.
Dunno, they going to go after Trump also for his threatening tweets?
Kinda sounds like Trump's method of dealing with issues he doesn't like.
Not saying it's right.. but that's what our leadership has resorted to.
Yet somehow Japan has managed to have very effective subway systems all over the country while being far more seismically active.

I'd be ok if every Canadian visitor just donated a box of those maple cookies...

Remember the pizza parlor that was "attacked" because Trump was peddling conspiracy theories?

You're spot on. People expect to be catered to and when they aren't, suddenly it's not fair.

Hopefully Darwin takes hold...

Compare the "cost" of the Paris Climate Agreement vs the "cost" of munitions that we "dump" on third world countries...
Which one of those might benefit humanity?
