You speak in generalities. Not all churches partition their congregations by age. There are still many churches that forego Sunday schools and everyone worships together in one assembly.
Not quite. In Finland, if you are a child of church-registered parents you automatically belong to the church yourself. And if you're a member of the church, you'll have religion classes in school, for that particular religion. Automagical recruitment and tax income, anyone?
I used this very service in TFA to resign from this very church, and I did it because:
It's a service I don't use.
No point in paying for it.
I'd imagine that no small amount of the 80% of the population in Finland who currently belong to it think similarly. (though perhaps there's a certain tradition in belonging to the church though you never go there...)
That said, there are things like old/ancient churches that the church has some responsibility over, which I appreciate for their historical value, but I'm not really affiliated with the organization itself.
Well for one: the education problems in first-world and third-world countries aren't the same.
Secondly, AIDS can be trumped by education (e.g. OLPC) and access to condoms. AIDS is so widespread in some countries, that I don't think a cure would be more effective right now (i.e. would arrive earlier than education about AIDS).
IMHO it's a matter of curing the cause versus patching the effect.
That's the point they're bringing forward. 3D Realms won't want to rush Duke Nukem forever, instead they'd like to slow down development once in a while since they don't want to disrupt the very fabric of the universe by a too rapid development pace.
But mission critical stuff wouldn't be the "killer app": it's the non-critical stuff, like hundreds of individual desktops with redundant copies of bloated Office-ware, receiving light usage patterns only. That's where a Google Office Mini would be aimed.
Because following the law isn't the same as doing the Right Thing (tm), especially as the laws get more oppressive or totalitarian. Unless of course oppression or totalitarianism happen to be the Right Thing, which I don't presume.
But DL is very good for convenience. Say you have a tv series you want to burn (not me, of course, I don't do those things:) and it takes 7 GB. You could recompress the whole thing in lower quality, or put in on one DL disc straight away. Easier to keep track of too.
....Or, you could burn it on 2 SL discs and put them in a double-disc jewel case...

Belief? Nope, I choose to make my own beliefs.
I fail to understand it...?
AFAIK where I come from, players are required to have face shields. It seems it's still not mandated in the NHL..
Bah! Anyone running on a P4 is contributing to a global warming project.

What I would like is a change of US administration, so we can get back to talking more about tech & science.
How's that for plausible?
String main() { printf("Brillant!"); return "Vista";}
How about a reverse version of Pascal where instead of using 'BEGIN' and 'END', you use 'BEFORE' and 'TOO LATE'..

Wait, what.. screen tearing on a console? I must've missed some news, that doesn't sound nice...

I wouldn't mind adding a few more, but perhaps we could have a "minor planet" definition for pluto-sized balls?

So in essence, not only is the list of axioms that cannot be proved infinite, the list of axioms that can be proved is also infinite?

But how do you know? Is the field of mathematics finite or infinite? This problem needs a solid proof, methinks..
Heh, quite ominous just right after having watched this BBC documentary.
That's a pretty cool idea, I wouldn't mind participating.
Perhaps it's an European thing, I've never seen parentheses in intervals myself... ISO 31-11 may be helpful.
Sounds like a parody of the scene with the police team entering the casino vault in Ocean's Eleven.
