Sometimes the best technological solution is none. Except I'd suggest a variation to your idea: put it in a secure case that physically blocks the home button instead. That way you don't damage the tablet.
Although, in the case of the original submitter, I'd be more worried about the theft of said tablet rather than people using it for other purposes. If it was in a case, you could tether it down physically as well.
Yeah sure, those big evil environmental groups that want to ensure smart use of natural resources, with their grandmother volunteers are repressing the entire third world.
You don't suppose it might have to do with IMF loans making debt slaves out of entire counties? Or the fact that certain developed nations meddle in the affairs of third world countries and destabilize them or prevent them from developing certain technologies? Or that it is caused by dictatorships in those countries? Or the systemic corruption and in-fighting/wars? Or all of the above and more?
If you really think about it, a nation's wealth ultimately comes from its natural resources. If there are none, the country has little to use/trade/sell to develop their industrial infrastructure and educate its citizens. What's left to offer? The cheap labour force. Combined with all the above, you have what many would call a third world country.
But in your view, hey, let's get those "oppressive" environmentalists (who advocate not wasting reources) out of the way and allow unfettered industrialization to occur, and wreck/waste/plunder that small amount of natural capital, rather than using it smartly. And using it smartly often means using the LATEST technology. So no, it's not environmentalists keeping anyone down.
I owe it all to those guys, especially Butterfield (RIP). That guy was like a hero to us back then.
A C64, Jim Butterfield's memory maps, Brad Templeton's PAL assembler and The Transactor Anthology (thanks too Karl J.H. Hildon). Man, what computing fun! I spent thousands of hours on C64's (and the PET too). I think I have that PET green phosphor glow permanently burned into my brain.
Jim Butterfield was a major force for that platform. Without his detailed hardware and ROM breakdowns of the machine, I don't think it would have reached the audience it did.
Jeesh, the guy who can posit on the origins of the universe and time travel gives us a job application page that submits over an unencrypted channel? He really does need a tech guy!
From TFA: "It also adds dynamic typing to the statically typed C# and Visual Basic, allowing developers to add objects and new variables to a program on the fly."
1. Intentionally have "issues" with iCloud running on Azure and Amazon, discrediting the competition 2. BIG Announcement of the switch to new uber Apple infrastructure 3. ??? 4. Profit!
Competing hard for the far-right-wing title though are the Corporatists. They're only a semi-tone off of that dissonance known as fascism, which is completely unplayable to most artists. There, brought it back on topic.
Well those 11,000 iPads will be shipped once. They will however save fuel repeatedly on flights on an ongoing basis, so it would hopefully be a net savings. Unless they upgrade every year.
My concern would be, will the iPads affect the critical navigation systems in the planes, and will they be too much of a distraction to the pilots if there are (inevitably) other apps on them? I suppose someone thought to consider that, right? Right??
Some of them may sound close, but I've yet to find one that *feels* right. IMO, it's due to the small amount of latency, and the lack of interaction between the speaker cab and how vibration from it affects the tubes.
The Axe-FX may be a new breed of technology though, I've never tried it. But if it's good enough for Mr's Vai and Petrucci who am I to disagree!
That's temporary though. Solar will look pretty attractive when the oil prices skyrocket because the oil *starts* to run out (it doesn't have to even run out, just become more scarce and the prices will go skyward). But you have to have the foresight to put the solar infrastructure in place before you need it, like now, when it doesn't look like it can be self supporting. So the subsidies are necessary to kick start the industry. I don't see anything wrong with govt's actually being proactive about something for a change. They blow plenty of money on less worthy things.
Sure you can make your own. But can you fit it into the same size/footprint of the time capsule. Nope. Can you make it without all the messy cables hanging all over the place, and adapters, and power cords? Not really. Will it require more than 1 outlet?
The time capsule may be a bit over priced, but the functionality *and* design make it worth it to me. Nothing wrong with the DIY method, but it's nowhere as neat of a solution.
I was scrolling through here looking for the easiest way to save the videos. I saw your link, and without knowing what video it was, clicked on it, and it was EXACTLY the video I was wanting to keep from google video. DoublePlusSpooky.
I agree, it's highly recommended...for conspiracy theorists as well.
I like your reasoning, but I think there is another category: There are also people who would pirate if it was available pirated, but would resort to buying it (if it was cheap enough) if they couldn't get it free. So I think that the pirate is at least costing him some money.
Apparently you've never heard of open pollination, or pollination in general.
Use something similar to Apple's USB key for Logic Pro 7.
Whatever they used, AFAIK it was never cracked, unlike Syncrosoft.
Or I could be wrong.

yeah, but I think it ends with "...but never discount malice"!
...or "feldercarb"
From TFA: "It also adds dynamic typing to the statically typed C# and Visual Basic, allowing developers to add objects and new variables to a program on the fly."
So it turns VB/C# into...Obj-C!
*ducks*
"You philosophical types need to learn that the world is not just black and white"
Huh? That's news to me. I thought philosophical types specialized in the "shades of grey" areas.
1. Intentionally have "issues" with iCloud running on Azure and Amazon, discrediting the competition
2. BIG Announcement of the switch to new uber Apple infrastructure
3. ???
4. Profit!
+1 to you sir/madam...if I had 'em. Where's my mod points when I need 'em.
I think you're confused. Fascists are right-wing.

The OIL industry is propped up by govt tax breaks and subsidies. FTFY.
Apple was never *overwhelmingly* popular 'round here. Linux, yes. Apple, no.

good grief, I hope you're joking.
In the video Jobs said it _used_ to be apricot orchards...long ago. It's mostly asphalt right now he said.
Actually the worst place is having them in the employee washroom, with the sensor just out of arm-waving-range. Just sayin'...
Maybe the "drooling simps" are better read than yourself. Here, educate yourself:
