That's the common problem about Turkish diaspora. Most are uneducated rural people (or descendants of them) who had migrated to Europe right after WW2 as cheap work force. Culturally they have never lived in urban Turkey so have failed to integrate into Europe, lost in-between, having their conservative roots about religion as their sole savior.
I was always curious about why Europeans hate us Turks as much and why they find it difficult to believe when an educated and well-behaved individual identify him/herself as a Turk. When I first visited Europe for business and saw those people stuck in-between, especially in Germany and Austria, I understood.
When this hit the news in Turkey, everybody I know has laughed, got angry with the diaspora for showing us as "sick, crazy people obsessed about ourselves" and turned the page.
The latter. It is the new Aero-like ICS UI switcher and is very smooth. I think it may be utilizing some kind of hardware acceleration which used to be missing in GB. The web browser is ultra-fast, like Opera and Galaxy S II's optimized browser.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, face unlock is missing. Couldn't find it anywhere in the settings.
Tried on Windows, performance improvements are immediately noticeable. Wastes less screen space by default. For those who are used to the old look-and-feel can feel a little awkward at first.
Set extensions.checkCompatibility to false and you're good to go.
Definitely. I had applied for Mortgage in Bank A and transferred all my money from Bank B to Bank A.
It was Friday, the mortgage money would arrive on Monday so I would go and buy the house with the combined cash.
Bank B said it transferred the money already, but Bank A didn't credit my account, so I phoned the bank branch. They asked for my account number and said "Oh yeah, sorry, we are just processing your transfer and crediting your account". It was 5 minutes to end of work day.
If I hadn't called, I would have missed the 2 day interest for my own money (Yearly interest rate was 14% in my country, so it made sense).
Which country? I do exactly the same job in the exact same field as you, am also 26, hold two BS degrees (CS and IT) and an MIS masters degree, work as a software architect in a mission critical environment.. $37K is what I earn (NET) and is considered a decent payment.
Thanks for the suggestions. We've already played and finished most adventure games ever released. (I even played and coded many text-based ones at high school).
Also, we got a low end 106 cm (42") Toshiba LCD and using a cheap DVI->HDMI cable you get a real monitor-like experience. Really cheap for value these days, 1:1 pixel mapping at 1360x768 at around 650 Euros.. (Around 1000$). Not bad and probably cheaper in US.
Very nice of you to recognize Jay Miner. As my nickname suggests, I already own many Amigas and games we play with guys when we get together, but my wife doesn't like them.
Yours have 2 GBs of RAM, so that may be the reason you didn't feel much difference but with mine comes with 1 GB. I even installed Microsoft's non-released test patches that increases performance a bit.
With VS.NET 2003 and Eclipse running, system became very non-responsive and nearly unusable with Vista. Now with XP it's pretty smooth.

My phone is stock and non-rooted (too lazy to backup and wipe) so that link is a no-go.

Yesterday I got the update to my Nexus S and there are no painted buttons (which would have been unnecessary).
You're right, no dedicated switch process button. Long-press on home button works as usual to switch between processes.
Although while the cost per gallon of diesel is higher
In Europe, cost of producing Diesel fuel is 0.5 cent higher compared to gasoline but consumer prices are lower.
For example, in Germany:
1.423 EUR/liter (Gasoline)
1.224 EUR/liter (Diesel)
Keep in mind that a Euro-Diesel engine option adds a minimum of 2000 EUR ($2800) to the car price.

Good idea. You can even use an existing add-on, Greasemonkey to do this.

It was 1996, I was 14. It was a Slackware 3.x CD from a PC magazine that I don't remember the name of. My PC was a 486.
I gave it a try mainly because of its network capabilities.
What capabilities? Malicious of course.. I was able to nuke'em all on the IRC!

With so little supply, indeed it is.

It's called Opel Corsa..
And I'm the original poster. What a luck!

As the poster of the story, I already own many Amigas. You should have guessed from my nickname.
If Microsoft tries to collect the shares from the market, the price will skyrocket, more than double.
If they go to shareholders, the information will go public and the price will skyrocket, again.
So there is no viable option to buy this company other than negotiating.
Despite common (man on the street) knowledge, it is quite a bit ironic that Microsoft has always underestimated the Internet.
Check Billy's books if you want..
Mine is too generic to be found by Googling.. (It's not the one I use here) *sigh*
You won't believe that I still laugh at this joke..
...is there really any possibility to launch it to the orbit from my backyard?
Can I do it with, say, $10,000 and without getting caught?
.. to starve on a pretty decent salary..
Sorry for my laziness not to disable the touchpad while typing..
I live in Turkey, a European Union candidate. I work in although not the capital, the biggest city, Istanbul.
:)
Being a project manager on mobile applications and embedded devices. I get 91,954 Turkish Liras anually which is around 52,000 Euros (gross).
Looking at the whole year in average:
%6.8 goes to Social Health Insurance and Pension Fund etc.
%26.9 goes to Income Tax
%1 goes to Unemployment Insurance and Stamp Duty
What I get (as net) is around 65.3% of my actual payment.. That is 32,760 Euros.. Rest goes to the government.
For a comparison: Petrol, gas, oil whatever you call it / liter: 2.85 TL / liter (around 1.6 Euros)
Don't have a car so this is not a problem yet
Rent = 1500 TL = 862 Euros..
Cable TV + Internet @ 1 Mbit = 34 Euros
GSM + POTS Phone comes around = 30 Euros
So 32760 - 12*(1500+30+34)= 13,992 Euros / year to eat, drink and live (and if you can, save!)..
Damn Taxes!
Thank god my wife works for Siemens, so we don't get
You have forgotten: Profit!
Should be the most popular OPEN SOURCE image manipulation program
