Expecting such f***ing ignorant rednecks in Texas is like expecting fish in the sea, but being able to be so ignorant and also run schools and police? wow.
The proper answer, at least in the US, is to fix the laws so they reflect reality, and tighten up on the level of driving ability you need to have in order to get a licence, not just blame the entire population.
There is already a giant problem throughout the US of super low speed limits everywhere that in no way reflect the actual road conditions, capability of the road, or how fast most people already quite safely drive on it.
The stupid speed limits mostly came about because speeding has been abused as a great revenue stream, and special interest groups such as MADD have literally no clue but way too much power. In short none of this has anything to do with any actual road safety measurements or metrics.
The problem with setting unrealistically low limits is that they are very much increasing the risk of accidents not decreasing them, since there will always be a few of the most braindead people that have heard "speed kills" so drive significantly slower than the traffic all around them, cause massive bottlenecks, then self-righteously think they are being better drivers than everyone else. The truth that they apparently don't have the brains to grasp is that speed itself doesn't kill (otherwise just standing on the earth would be fatal), its speed differential (i.e. the thing they, and self-driving cars are choosing to cause) that is dangerous.
It seems obvious to me that the real reason for "Binge On" is that it gives T-Mobile the mechanism to double-dip. For example if FaceTube wont pay TMO some fee, then it won't get in the "Binge On" whitelist so FaceTube won't be used as much by TMO customers. Just a clever but simple way for TMO to sell customers to content providers.
What a bunch of moronic pussies. What are they trying to prove? That they can ruin the holidays for a bunch of kids? Wow what a bunch of cretins. Theyre not even doing anything semi-intelligent like actually hacking, just doing yet another boringly unoriginal Skript Kidde-like DDOS. woo. Big woop.
Agreed. I cut the cable and threw up an antenna a couple of years ago now. If anything the quality of service is actually better than cable. Significantly less commercials, all the channels are digital, and I can still use my mythtv box instead of having to pay extra monthly rent for some technically unnecessary set top box.
This. They already know this is what people want. Trouble is, they will NEVER do it. not for anything that makes economic sense to the consumer anyway. Their closed-mindedness is directly the result of having had a monopoly for so long that the upper management of cable companies have literally no mental ability, even in order to stay in business, to grasp the simple concept of providing what most people actually want.
Why are politicians allowed to make any rules over something they clearly don't even understand the basics about? This woman should and would have been laughed out the hall if any of the others listening to her even had the first clue either.
Its no wonder to me that he was using 3 phase. I got into bitcoin mining back in the day when the value of the bitcoins you could mine was more than the cost of electrictiy needed to do so. I bought a miner that has 2 power inputs that use about 1200 watts each. It draws so much power you can;t even run it in your average US house without splitting it over two different power circuits, or using 3 phase. Thats for just a single mining rig, so yeah I'd be more surprised if he wasn't on 3 phase.
Well done for completely missing my actual point but having a nerdgasm about some trivial cut and paste error. Sometimes I fucking hate Slashdot jsut because of all the hypercritical anal morons on here.
See thats exactly my point. I dont want an alternative that I have to pay a shit load more for, even if it does outperform whats out there already. I just want a cheap runaround to get to work and back in, through slow moving rushour traffic for 15 miles or so each way....and maybe occasionally move crap around with. I actually don't need to race anyone and I almost never need to drive hundreds of miles in a day.
Great just what the world needs.....Another toy that only rich people can afford. I'lll start taking this seriously when the come out with an electric F150 that costs less than $30k.
>> there is virtually no reason not to take the gaming to the console.
Sure there is. PC versions of games are always better because the PC has more capacity, especially if you keep your PC hardware upgraded to at most 1 or 2 generations behind bleeding edge. You can't even upgrade consoles at all. Console controllers suck compared to mouse and keyboard for FPS/twitch games. PCs are much longer-lived than consoles and there is little or no backward compatibility issues with older games. I can still play my ancient adventure games on my PC, while PS4/Xbone can't even play PS2/original Xbox games. PCs give you access to other stuff, such as a whole subculture of emulation (MAME etc) that you can't do with a console.
Weight is pretty much the most clueless measurement to use. You could build something really big, put helium balloons inside it and have it sit on a scale and still weigh less than 9 oz. Any of Physical size, maximum range, maximum speed, maximum altitude, any of those would have been much less clueless.
>> Right because somone who does not possess electronics knowledge can tell the difference between a PCB for a cheap electronic clock and one that is some kind of detonator.
Even assuming your point is completely true, you're still making the same dumb mistake that the school did. Do you REALLY believe that a timer alone can explode? It requires just basic common sense to spot the complete lack of explosive material, such as a blob of grey putty or a jar of liquid with a detonator cap or a couple of wires sticking out of it.
Apprently even basic common sense is an unrealistic expectation let alone requirement for your average US public school staff and principal these days.
I have no idea why all routers dont routinely refuse to pass packets when they can determine they have faked originating addresses.

Your argument makes no sense, since that would mean pretty much any timing device is also a bomb.
