    in my time as geek, i have recived many services/goods in exchange of my help.

    medical services (fixing a doctor's computer(also friend of mine)).
    food (everytime i fix my aunt computer, she gaves me a cake or something.).
    also some: car repairs, forniture, apliances, some semi-old computers...

    actually a friend of mine (geek too), got sex in exchange...

    I have a Canon A75 and is a great camera, is only 3.2M but with a great ccd sensor, it's image quality is superb, the DIGIC sensor does a wonderfull job making the pictures crisp and well balanced..
    from hi-res photos with the camera i can print a LETTER (210mm x 297mm)size photo on a KODAK digital Store (kindda kodak normal shop but with all the digital stuff) for less than 75cents, the canon A75 cost about 200$, is a great deal for your money...

    PS: you must buy an aditional CF card, at least 256MB, (1.6mb per hires picture). the camera comes with a small 32mb hi speed CF.

    .... just thinking... new video card for my pc, more ram, a new mobo/cpu.... no less than $900... just to play...

    my current machine is a celeron 2.4, 512ram DDR+ radeon 8500 is more than enough to work... but not for gaming...

    a PS2, is a gaming machine... unblocked (with especial chip) less than 250 dolars... and runs all the games for it... no more ram isues, no DX dramas.

    and for MMORPG, add the harddisk/network card for the PS2 ($120). and voila...

    a game console, is a better price/benefit than a computer gaming plataform...

    i did too.
    Fireworks is better in most of the common tasks... PS is still better in retouching (adding/removing mothers in law of the family pictures).

    FIREWORKS is better to do web interfaces, diagramas, photo compositions.
    the elements kind of layers rocks, not just the full bitmap layer... here just the element (vector/raster/text).

    this is madness... don't invent something to sell it... invent it , patent it, then SUE... i must hurry to go patent office to register the breathing technology (you know taking air into the lungs ... then blow it off. exchanging O2 for CO2), then sue every one on the planet. autoplay... doesn't cdplayer autoplay a inserted cd? they pay royalties too?, the car stereos, autoplay a cassette when is inserted, don't they? automount and autofs works in a slightly diferent way.... when you try to access the directory where media is supposed to be mounted, just then the the autofs daemon check if the media is present in the drive to mount... in this case the mount is "on demand", but without typing "mount ..."

    it's just not posible to protect something from millions of hackers... i remember that XP supossed to be "hacker-proof" with the internet activation system... HACKED before even XP was officially released. The SONY protected audio CD's... with a permanent black marker.... it is a utopia to think that no one will try to break the protection... the harder they try to protect something the more challenging to hackers is breakin it.

    It was like 10 years ago when we all had fun with "prince of persia" in the all mighty's XT @8mHz...

    I mean the whole computer world has evolved, into GPU's that are faster than CPU's 12 months old, using big smart busses (128, 256 even 512 bits), using DDR3 technology...

    I had a XT, and i spent almost the same daily hours playing that i currently spend today... is just me or is the same but bigger, faster and stronger?
