    Didn't crash here, the pop just got blocked. When I allowed popups and tried again, the securina page opened just as another tab again, with its own address. Good old Konq.

    Deiban is currently undergoing a C++ ABI Upgrade. Since KDE is practically all C++, this is a bit of a problem.

    Once all the libraries are upgraded to GCC 4.0, KDE will follow, and will then be 3.4. Theres no point upgrading the KDE packages if they have to do it all again in a few weeks.

    I have to agree, I hope CSS and Javascript has seriously improved, as I discovered some serious bugs while doing my companies site.

    They where very annoying as I had stuck to standards, and had it working in FF, IE, Safari, Konq, Galeon, and even Lynx.

    I do think your wrong about it being tripe and useless. Skype will will succeed, and be around for quite a while.

    Simply because it is so damn easy to use, It has clients for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, and all you need is the ID of anyone you want to call. No screwing around.

    I ain't no fan boy, but after using SIP and Skype, I know which the majority of users are going to find easier to use.

    Also check out http://www.ilbcfreeware.org/ for the codec.

    Telewest Blueyonder have already increased speed twice ( without any charge either ), and they are completley unlimited, no caps. There also an FTP mirror for Debian which is handy.

    512kbit -> 756kbit-> 1mbit
    1mbit -> 1.5 mbit -> 2mbit
    2mbit -> 3mbit -> 4mbit

    Not without destroying most of the Island, plus where talking about a lot of rock here, This is more than just removing the top of some mountain ( which is hard enough ), I think you'd have to go down quite a way to the sea floor. Where talking trillions of tons of rock off an active volcano, which might even distrub it enough to set it off anyway.

    How you would do it, who would pay for it, and would the locals let you? are also some of the other considerations.

    I have the Lord of The Rings, Radio play by the BBC, it's longer than the films, it comes on 13 CD's ( Plus one for music ). I got it about 4 years ago. Plus I'm always listening to BBC Radio 4, sometimes the Drama, mostly the comedy. Just because your a sad bastard who can't apreciate anything that came out before you did, doesn't mean the rest of us are.

    Bzzt, thank you for trying. WxWidgets is GTK underneath, neither are up to the standard of Qt. Java and c# are languages.

    Science is a description of relality, as close as we currently understand, and within the limitations of our current technology. Its under constant review, and improvement. Its approximate, simply because we don't yet have the thearetical, and physical tools needed to describe it fully.

    Creationism, isn't a description of reality. It's a religious construct, and relies on nothing more than a book of stories. We don't tale the creation myths of other religions seriously, so why should we treat the Christian/Jewsish/Muslim myth diffrently?

    Probably because creationism is purely an American phenomenon.

    Nobody in Europe (at least) gives a damn about it. Its not taught, its not even considered, its just something to laugh at. Nobody takes it seriously. Well nobody with any brain.

    Science is science, Religion is Religion. end of story.

    Actually I have. Maybe it's because we have so much to do with the India. Curry is the most popular dish in the UK.

    http://www.bhangra.com/ is a good place to check out the latest in Indian style music. Some from the UK, others from India. Its quite popular here, BBC has the Asian Network Radio station.

    India has one of the largest movie Industries in the world. They also have a large number of programmers, authors, musicians etc.

    Just because it's not in english doesn't mean it doesn't really exist, or is worthless, or doesn't make a lot of money for their makers. A billion people in your domestic market can make you quite rich.

    You think anyone outside of America, has even heard of a quarter of the people you think are famous?

    Terry Pratchett, makes a lot of money from his books, how many do you think he sells in India?

    Agreed, also why should a few years work for one, support them their children, their children's children... for the rest of their lives, why everyone else's children have to keep working?

    Its not like they don't get compensated for the work, ( Sometimes by astronomical amounts ) but their grand children as well?

    Everyone else has to invest, to leave something to their children, apparently If grandad's an author then its kickback and relax.

    No its not. Whats commonly referred to as a lobotomy, is to remove or seperate the frontal lobes ( Higher functions ) and not seperate the two hemispheres of the brain.

    Ceefax 1974, BBS mid to late 80's, Internet 90's. One did not affect the adoption of the other. Internet actually replaced BBS, and until the mid 90's 98% of the population wouldn't be able to tell you what the Internet was never mind what the hell BBS was.
