If you are a writer or journalist, don't say or write hacker when you mean cracker. If you work with writers or journalists, educate them on this issue and push them to do the right thing. If you catch a newspaper or magazine abusing the work `hacker', write them and straigten them out (this appendix includes a model letter).
I'm not really sure anything in CP/M qualifies as massively inventive.
Quote; "CP/M on the other hand is based upon the Operating System for the DEC PDP-10, "TOPS-10", at least concerning file and device naming conventions, as well as for some command designations. Other influences are less clear, but undisputable."
There was indeed quite the same "look and feel" (or odd PDP logic - illegal UUO - unimplemented user operation (error - never got (really understood) that one):)
Read the fine print: "Unlike a pure democracy, in a constitutional republic, citizens are not governed by the majority of the people but by the rule of law.... The United States of America is the oldest constitutional republic in the world... ". So, if you are a real PATRIOT and secretely pass enough...
I was just trying to point out the humor of those two central nations of Europe that have, historically, spent so much time spitting or shooting at one another, finally following each other's leads.
Sorry I missed the humor (perhaps due to my bias that U.S.-Americans have difficulties to get a grasp of history - no insult intended). Good luck in promoting open-source.
Yes, the Germans have always been good at following the French. Or, if that doesn't work, just anschlussing them.
As I perceive it, this is not the case, and the servers of the "Bundestag" (our parliament; about 100+) have been migrated to LINUX (from NT) already last year.
Besides, you should consider that history in Europe is more a matter of milleniums, not just decades or, even worse, years.
Hopefully more governments will follow suit and find that sometimes open source is better software, since it has been under the scrutiny of the public.
The whole EU will follow, as I hope. With regard to Germany, I am quite sure.
This would read more like: "Both parties agree to withhold from any further action regarding the case in focus.". That is, you have predefined classes (lists, maybe objects, whatever) that you do not care to reiterate (what lawyers, as the example shows, obviously need to do, which fosters the implication that the system is highly inefficient).
Perhaps lawyers should be run through some formal language education.
"... Conditioned upon the parties' compliance with the terms and conditions of
this Agreement, the parties, and their respective officers, directors, agents, servants,
employees, parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, attorneys, successors and assigns,
hereby release each other from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities,
rights or causes of action, including but not limited to any claim for attorneys fees,
arising out of or relating to the Action and/or the allegations asserted therein...."
Reading this please make your own conclusions about the inner structure of the underlying legal system (IMAGINE YOU WOULD STRUCTURE CODE THE SAME WAY!).
mimic the changes that take place in "Animal Farm"...
You are a cynic. Congrats. On a side note, your post makes me wonder why a major (broadly) consumer-electronics-store ( http://www.mediamarkt.de/ ) has chosen a pig as its main marketing character. Maybe it is indeed the time of the pigs.
When you're standing, your neck doesn't often get tired.
But proper standing (posture) is a topic in itself (and I suppose that most that have to cope with improper ergonomic conditions have difficulties to do so). I almost believe that even the goal of an at least "good" posture is unattainable given the conditions of "civilization".

They are hand picked through a very selective process.
Unless you do not reveal the criteria this statement is quite worthless - to put it differently: hand-picked nonsense.

social engineering for non-harmful purposes
Almost a contradiction, IMHO, as the idea of engineering humans implies a specific (evil) Weltanschauung.
"Applied Social Psychology/Sociology", "Counselling" or "Psychotherapy" sound much better in my ears.

Wow. That simple statement also sums up the War on Drugs.
Any war (perhaps)?

Soviets and East Germany were not Nazis, they were communists.
They were pretending to be.

Fedora is good for ultra bleeding edge stuff
Hmmm, I (and my machine) bled more doing a Gentoo stage 1 install. I switched to Ubuntu and feel fairly comfortable.

Neither computers nor lawyers are very good with fuzziness.
Computers may be more flexible.

A Jewish man from Wales, I find this comment offensive.
You should sue the creators of English for damages (or the copyright holders, if that matters). Good luck!
