---Ok, you are full of facts. Wonderful, so is my computer and it's much better at it. What I need is someone who can learn concepts and apply them to real problems.
You will find that good college curriculums stress the latter.
We can tag things with stupid shit like/.'ers do. For instance on the topic of "Apple versus Microsoft: Who is sexier?" we can tag it with thinkofthechildren or even better... FUD. Or in posts with a question in it we just tag it with a one word answer. Because we all know tagging with answers such as yes, no or maybe is totally awesome and adds to the elitist, holier than thou, atmosphere that/.'ers like to think they are in.
however, it occurs to me that if this latter possibility (no need to teleport quantum information) was the case, quantum teleportation even in the first case would preserve the original, since it wouldn't matter that the spins of all the atoms in the original get mucked with.
copying the quantum information destroys the original, it's a fundamental property
however, if we are speaking about teleporting something bigger, it may turn out that we only need to copy the non-quantum information about the particles, which would actually make it duplication more than teleportation.
I think that the limiting factor of HDTV prevalence/price will be unimportant sooner than you believe; and this console's lifetime should span out to what, 2012?
That is just as good a way as long division, and with experience very often faster. Long division is just a contrived algorithm too you know - kids just learn the algorithm, not why lines of long division are equivalent (it's similar to euclid's algorithm)
Are you saying that you think noobs should defeat experienced players? Get over yourself. Fact is, it was a stupid question with, so it begat a half answer. If levelling didn't make you more powerful, there would be no incentive to do it. Take it or leave it, this is the reason that there haven't been MMORPG FPS crossovers in the past. In summary, it's a known risk, mitigated by a few factors. Get over youself, seriously...
dude, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Huxley will be fine for lev 50 vs lev 1, the reason was given tangentially: the only main differences between levels are item slots... since its a FPS style, the skills will win out in the end. Fundamentally its an FPS with a few relatively minor RPG elements.
On the other hand, the PS3 (and 360) may end having more longevity than the Wii, because eventually people will use HD formats and eventually they will all have HD TVs. Either the Wii will become a phenomena, or it will seem very unattractive at the end of the generation cycle
I'm a longtime reader of his site, and by art, I think he really means to compare games to movies/books. I'm pretty sure he's not claiming that sculptures necessarily delve into what it means to be human. But his campaign is nevertheless fruitless, after all why can't I consider a movie to just be a special case of a game (one which consists entirely of a 2-hour long cutscene)?
From the article: "Circuit designers understand that n-type transistors can be turned on with positive voltage applied to the drain; p-types are exactly the opposite."
Surely they mean 'applied to the gate' (the input voltage is gate to source, the output voltage is drain to source)

What do you know? You have a seven digit slashdot ID.

Maybe some old games are better than most new games, but on the other hand I'd rather play the same game in HD than in SD.
What's interesting about this? It's clearly impossible..
odd numbers can be the square of an integer, just not even numbers with only a single repeated factor of 2...........
if you want those functions, learning VBA is the next step.
doo...doo...doo...
Hey! Where did that cool plastic castle come from?
because if the console is popular, regardless of profitability, it creates a positive image in the market, which drives the stock price up
:D at this very moment I'm wearing the t-shirt with that cartoon on it

I'm not really that concerned about whether or not the game company is "stuck up".. I only care about the quality of the games, dunno about you

Microsoft's trying to minimize alpha and maximize beta
Well, it's pretty hard the say since you aren't allowed to just go digging up CIA headquarters.

patent has another meaning, as an adjective, you know..
www.caltechvsmit.com Appears also to have been edited by MIT students.
For a genius, he sure had a poor showing in getting last place in the mental arithmetic competition that Nintendo used as a demo at the show...
