We really are not in control in this situation, we are here subject to all
that mother nature really intends for us. Stop pretending science can save the world,
and realize that the world does not need saving, it will have no problem in killing us.
Besides, I'm happy with the sunny weather in the U.P. of michigan every now and then.
Also all of their download sites are not in the U.S., I have thought about being a U.S. Mirror a couple of times, but figure there is good reason to not distribute it within the U.S.

Seriously though, start pulling a straight day at a normal work pace. Work at a sustainable pace, not a get it all done pace. Once there is a need for another member, and they are asking about your productivity refer to your report. Worst comes to worst you get to go look for a better job.

Come'on get real, your buying things from hobbiest and pissed off ex-wifes. (and thats the best part!) No one knows what your going to get. And if you do think it's a online 'store' then your saddly mistaken. If you wouldn't buy it from a rummage sale i wouldn't buy it on ebay. As for getting ripped off, maybe you should go to a local store and actually support your own town. But i know you can't walk away from the computer long enough to say hello to a store owner. Ebay replaced online forums and bulleten boards, not Amazon. We should never expect ebay to provide the same service as amazon.
I'd sure like one of those old school robots that would pick up cd's and place them in a indexed shelf. sadly i'd prob dish out more for than then a car.
This past month i paid google 30 bucks for my adwords account. Typically i get 5 clients per month when i run their advertisement. This month, things took a nose dive.. So i descided to hold up shop untill i had some time to investigate why things flipped so fast. I actually forgot about the ads figuring people were not clicking due to the lack of sales, I was rather susprised when i got the bill for 25 bucks. Anyway.. Thats why i stopped my account and figured I'd just put my money and time elsewhere. Thats the power of money, I doubt you can sue, advertisement is a risk. that risk with google appears to be getting much less trusted.. I'd rather trust a local newspaper with my advertisement than google right now. And thats most likely what i'll do for my advertisement.. that and post my url on slashdot and any other site that asks for my homepage... (Still unsure if thats 'good' advertisement or not).
Why can't we just form a digital library? If i can go to my local public library and rent a video for free. Why can't we just do the same with digital media?
It seams rather stupid that there is this aurora around digital files, that has been delt with for ages in the physical print and videos.
I don't quite understand the difference between my public library and a drm'ed video stream.
Just because of quality doesn't remove the clauses for fair use. I have never seen anything saying if you loose 1/2 the quality it is ok to record copywritten work. Although i have seen it written that it is perfectly ok to record copywritten work for your own entertainment. (Betamax).
So where do you get this whole justification about quality? Besides, you could always record a record at perfect analog quality.

I run a dollar/month hosting company, and 35% of every monthly sale goes to paypal. Which the way I setup the system, is just the hit I take. I've accepted that because the hosting company isn't setup to make gobs of money, it's just ment to support designers and provide a better service. With this new micropayment structure I could earn 25% more each month, without doing a single change.
Yes it is still evil, but hey I just had to sign up for a free paypal account to start running accounts through. I'd rather pay 500 dollars over 3 years than 300 dollars up front for a system.
Most people who read this site have been in these kids seats at least once in there life. That is why this is a great place to gain support for your side. Except that none of us have a slight influence in your situation.
It just goes to be said, life is about politics not about technology. These kids are obviously stuck in a power struggle that they stumbled upon. Luckly they will graduate in a few years and life will move on.
The administration has made it their life, so they will be less likely to give to reality on the topic. Unless your losing something that you have a right to, (such as your achievements or ability to publicly voice your oppinion) the administration normally wins.
wikipedia doesn't have these problems with/. links to them. maybe the LA times needs to take a lesson on content management from a open source project.;P
