Its very rare in any eve PVP to get your loot back if your on the losing side, which if your ship has just gone pop then you probably are.

Insurance helps but when you lose a BS in PVP even a medium fitted one your looking at 100mil isk loss and that hurts most players. I know I get a real sense of fear when my phoons armor tank starts to fail and you don't get that with WoW or the like. You don't tend to keep making the same mistakes when it takes you a week to earn that ship back.

The only down side of this is that as a casual player myself it means I can't pvp as much as I would like but you can't have everything.

I get free calls to any other SIP user, I have a real paid for land line number(several), answer phones etc etc etc. All the usefull stuff that skype does and more. I don't have a real world phone anymore and never had any problems so I would say that there are people offering SIP services as good as if not better than skype out there its just not everyone knows about them because it's skype hype atm.

The fact is all the major telcoms houses are working with SIP or various open protos and at some point skype will have to let others in to play or be forgotten.

If people want to use windows or OSX good. Thats their choice, they paid their money and so can exspect a certain level of service as a result. But what gives them any right to tell an OSS developer what to do?

What gives anyone the right to tell me when I make an offical build from CVS? Just because something they want isn't in an offical build they want me to take time out of fixing other bugs to make them a build.

Hell there are things in packages I want fixed or require I build from cvs...but instead of bitching to everyone who will listen about how bad OSS is and how the developers won't listen to me I fix it or build it from CVS because I have been on the receiving end of the kind of abuse that people like the ffmpeg group are getting.

Everyone wants something for nothing and they want it now, that not what OSS is about.

When you do that then you are free to whine and bitch about it.

Until that point your just another user who exspects everything from people who dedicate their own free time to producing something in the hope it may be useful to others. You want daily builds? Get off your ass and do them yourself.

Indeed you are correct I do not agree with getting 'market share' crowd but then I also think in a sense that crowd doesn't actually exist because that is driven by mostly pressure from outside forces (ie those not actively involved in development) but they seem to have an increasing loud voice.

Those developing are doing so because they want to do it for themselves, they want a tool(s) to do something and they are building on a tool box that is Linux based. Some of their driving factor may well be to make something better than windows or some other OS but in the end it's for them and who ever cares to use it and they are doing it their way.

So by sitting on the side lines and saying well I think Linux should be the same at the core so we can beat windows or be installed on Dells these people show they have no real understanding of what they are asking of the community and what the community they are asking it of is about and that if they want change they have to get off their ass and make that change because 99% of the community doesn't care if Linux comes on a Dell.

I agree that anything setup badly will not make any difference and in the case of 7.1 it would be a mess. But if you have gone 7.1 then I assume they have paid good money for something to drive it and some good kit to host it. If you have paid less than 5k for your setup then it's probably pointless to go 7.1.
