It really was only a matter of time before someone made a monty python reference . did anyone happen to see bill gates' monty python reference this week?
i am a loyal follower of newegg.com- i think they were 30 bucks each there... but i would try Froogle -if you havent tried it yet, its google's new beta product search engine... you can probably find a good deal somewhere on the ole world wide web of ours.

I was sick of hearing my Athlon 2600 box pour white noise into my apartment, so I picked up two Vantec fan controllers- one for the CPU fan, one for the case fans. The CPU controller has a built-in thermometer and audible alarm so that I cant fry my processor... the net result is a huge drop in fan noise, but I can still crank em back up during heavy-use periods- one of the best, cheapest upgrades I've done in a while!
You'd BETTER not be badmouthing such gems as Joe Millionaire: A foreign affair or Rich Girls, right??? I can't believe anyone would even insinuate such a foolish premise like "information pollution." Simply inconceivable...
1/10 of a cent... I can recoup my losses from ID theft by cashing in the 300,000 [cash value:1/20 cent] coupons I've been hoarding for all these years!
This seems like RFID's on steroids, doesn't it? Having one more way to tell me the milk is sour -this time sensing it instead of predicting it- doesnt seem worth millions of dollars worth of research. Plus, the first time I sneeze out a bunch of smart dust, I'm gonna be pissed, and Intel's gonna be out 500 bucks.
methinks you may have planned on posting to http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/11/30/222420 4&mode=thread&tid=103&tid=126&tid=146&tid=99&thres hold=-1 this discussion...
My question is this [and it may be a stupid one, i realize]: if the federal government is allowed to tax er, ahem, "regulate" VoIP, doesnt that open up other web-based systems to taxes as well? There has been discussion about small fees per email, or per page view. If VoIP is suddenly taxable, then isnt all data transmitted via a networking protocol suddenly fair game? Am I going to have to pay on a per-ping basis?
According to one of my Econ profs, M$ has been doing this for years- a copy of WinXP is available in China for anywhere from 24.95 to 50 bucks. That way, less people are forced to turn to piracy, and Gates turns a profit, albeit a smaller one, in Asia, where piracy is most rampant.
As parts are upgraded, I try to combine them with other parts and create full machines- instead of spending 15 bucks on a rubbermaid box, I get cases off of ebay for 8! The result is that my apartment has a small array of pcs in various states of disrepair, lined up along the wall. Although not a single box is operational, it sure does make a nice shelf for all of the other shit that doesn't have a home!
he said it regarding his upcoming knighthood: on CNN.com...
Its all over. Shut down /. after years of silence, the biggest geek in all of Middle Earth has made himself known!
I only wish you were joking. When I turn the machine off, the absence of the blue cold cathode glow and deafening hum leads to insomnia!
How exactly... did they buy large quantities of SCO stock short or something? Are they a UNIX competitor?
advanced 3d video and ping pong... its amazing this hasnt caught on earlier among the geek community!

Am I the only one who cant load www.louiethe13th.com, or have we slashdotted a presidential candidate's website?
We pay 45 for a cable modem, dsl is 35... which i find completely absurd.

you have to admit, this may be the first time we've managed to Slashdot a search engine. Yet another /. milestone!

The Skycar goes 350 mph, and yet still gets way better gas mileage than my escort.

How is it that some people get cool nicknames, like "the Stainless Steel Mouse" and "Iceman" and "Dozer." The best I could ever manage was Lunchbox...
