I would love a show where you watch live cameras filming cops. That, or to have online all the live footage of Cops that was edited to protect officers when they went over the line. The people should monitor them.
Having a groups server mapped to your mail system can save you a lot of space and improve usability of the mail system. This is a good replacement for those big distribution lists. The conversations would be stored once and will be available afterwards for people not originally on the discussion.
You have to make it work (implementation and permissions) but in many scenarios it is a good choice.
So long as I can create ideas and others can realize them, I'm in good shape.
Exactly that kind of management thinking is why I dislike most IT managers. How can you evaluate your own ideas if you are not qualified? How can a qualified subordinate tell you you are completely wrong without upsetting you and risking your favor.
This looks like a reaction to Core Force, a free Windows tool taking security to the highest level. Only missing an antivirus. A bit annoying at first, as you have to decide what can get through or not but it's getting there with the community of users submitting profiles.
The most important CISSP book (McGraw-Hill) says biometric security devices are "the best, but the most expensive".
This was the first question I randomly peeked at to see how far from my opinion this certification is. I closed the book and haven't opened it again so far. A shame this is getting almost as mandatory in security jobs as Cisco certification for networking and Checkpoint/Nokia for firewalls.
Could you please back what you just said? Some paper author map maybe? I feel quite the opposite on tech and biotech. But I don't have evidence on my post either.
Alejo
TV is too annoying to watch anymore. I just watch films on a DVD mail rental service.
Maybe with something like Tivo TV gets bearable. And anyway most of the content isn't interesting. They aim for Joe Average, and only Joe Average they get.
The UFS filesystem used by Solaris provides a data "snapshot" feature that prevents such data loss, NTT Labs says, but filesystem operation must be suspended to use the feature, reducing performance. NILFS, in contrast, can "continuously and automatically [save] instantaneous states of the file system without interrupting service," NTT Labs says.
I doubt major media distributors will pick up with this. And even if they do, it might be too late.
As most tech-savy users realize, a media revolution might start with concepts like podcasting with bittorrent. Maybe it's time for independent movies to do it this way instead of dvd rental based with the Netflix-like providers. They are still being ripped-off. We need to cut the middle man.
A large client was affected last night because of it. And they patched almost all servers this week, but how can you keep patching up with thousands of workstations, including home users accessing through vpn?
Tightening more is not an easy option as people want to do all what Microsoft promises them. When security teams (or just plain support) insist on patching they are labeled as annoying dorks, and when a worm/virus hits because of lame users not patching... just plain dorks!
Sometimes I wish I liked painting instead of computers.
We shouldn't allow companies to behave like this. Now filing a law suit against this guy. We can just stop buying from them and recommending altenatives.
The ratemylogs project is a crazy and mind breaking projection of reality. The author has created a website (X) which pretends to be offering free sex chats with beautiful women on the server side and instead it has some dumbass PHP bots. There are a lot of disclaimers laying around the website X which DO TELL there are NO WOMEN at all and instead simple digital clones of the real versions. However, nobody cares to read or, even better, nobody cares at ALL! Shocked by the quality of the conversations being developed by the horny users, the author decided to add a few more words to the disclaimer! stating that all conversations were subject to be logged and made public (this website is a perfect example!). Of course! nobody cared! Have fun with us! Read as many conversations as you want before lunch and after dinner! Rate them and comment them. Want to learn more about the silly ass bots written in php? Head to the Bots section!

Why wait?

Nike shoes are so much faster. I will never use Adidas again.
"Cisco is not aware of any active exploitation of this vulnerability"
Right.
This is for the new website. They expect to fund a new shuttle program with registrations from geek pr0n seekers.
Sandra really kicked some ass being Miss Congeniality, FBI is super cool. Where do I sign up?

You missed to include in the debate The Church of the FSM.
Dude , I have no idea.

Google, where are you? ;)
And home users getting in through a VPN. Of course they want working all Microsoft services too. And it still is your fault, not theirs.
More info about the worm: Looks like its Zotob.A., and weblog. Here are some comments.

Class action lawsuit? Where are those guys when you need them! :)
This is outrageous.

Plus you sound a bit arrogant for an educated person.
A very nice read:
