That was 200 hours per year. That means the phone should last about 5 years. I think most people would probably replace a cell phone within 5 years anyway. --
This is the first post I've read that I actually agree with.
(warning, mild spoilers ahead)
Titan AE was not good. Yes, the animation was OK. It wasn't amazing but it was decent. But the script was horrendous! I mean, indescribably bad. "You go, it's better this way" had me laughing my ass off.
And the plot, ignoring the terrible dialogue, was still dumb. How about when the two main characters enlist an entire colony to help them rebuild a ship, then speed off and catch up to the guys who dropped them off? (err, if you've seen it you know what I mean). That was ridiculous.
And one other problem I had: in all the spaceship flying scenes, they had a big joystick / control yoke / thingy. To go faster, you pushed it forward. To 'pull up' you pulled it back. What if you want to go fast AND up? Just not an option I guess.
Oh, and the whole Titan ship, which is huge, has 4 measly little guns on the outside to protect it? No wonder the Earth got blown up, we all became idiots!
I could go on and on, but I guess I won't. If you're praising this movie I'd encourage you to take a step back and think about it again. Don't tell me it's just a dumb fun movie, MIB and Independence Day and Armageddon were just dumb fun movies, Titan AE is just CRAP.
This has a definite "perpose". The guy who cracked it wanted to be able to log in to the root account on his i-opener (which runs QNX). I don't really see how that's any different than using de-css to play DVDs in Linux.
Are you gay by any chance? I'm totally serious here, though I'll probably get marked flame-bait. I saw the movie last night with a gay (male) friend of mine and he absolutely hated it. I loved it, and so did the other straight guy who was with us. It got me to thinking, because I hated Talented Mr. Ripley, which was sort of a gay love story, and this same gay friend loved it. I think it's an identification issue, I couldn't identify with Matt Damon's character in Ripley, and my friend couldn't get behind Cusack in High Fidelity.
If we are apllying the rule of thumb, that fixing one bug introduces two new ones, MS will never be able to deliver a bug free version
By that rule no one will ever produce a bug free product. And while I realize that's probably true (that there are no bug free projects) I don't see how you have the right to bash M$ over it.
I was wondering the same thing. From poking about a little here's what I came up with:
Both are peer to peer networks designed for sharing files. Both avoid at all costs a centralized server (hence peer to peer I guess huh?).
The main difference is that Freenet aims to divorce data from its physical location. A chunk of data in Freenet moves throughout the network after it is inserted, moving closer to where it gets more requests from, etc. The data is also duplicated so there can be more than one copy of it throughout the network. Freenet also will expire data if it's not accessed for a while. Freenet server admins theoretically have no way of knowing what is stored on their server. This is basically a whole new paradigm where the data no longer resides on a certain server which you have to be able to find, it is instead an entity unto itself, propagating throughout the network.
Gnutella on the other hand is basically a decentralized Napster. The data still stays on your machine and other 'servants' query you directly (sorta) to see if you have it. If you do you send that data to the machine looking for it. This is really just a nice way to have a bunch of searchable files shared on your machine, so others can download them from you.
Did that make any sense? It's 5:30 am and this is just my take on it...
I know this is a troll, but I have to say this. I have been a moderator (and probably so have you if you actually have an account) and Andover's stock price was definitely not on my mind. The problem with your theory is that moderation is done by USERS, not/. staff. So basically you're dead in the water.
The Ocean (pick one) is REALLY big. There are not all that many boats out there at any given time. There are only 66 satellites, they will probably burn up completely on re-entry.
I know, I probably shouldn't be writing this, but this is some of the best trolling I've ever seen. I mean, where does he come up with this stuff? The EPA restricting the number of pipelines on a processor?? That's classic! The only thing that could possibly have made it better is if it was a little more readable:)
Anyways, congratulations on elevating trolling to an art form.
Didn't Lamborghini (sp?) make some hummers with the same engine they used in the Countache? (sp again).
:)
I bet those had more than 80 hp

That's kind of funny, that exact scenario (Coke vs Pepsi) happened at RIT...
or maybe you knew that?

The day I can get IE for Linux is the day I finally dump windows.
C'mon, netscape is crap and you all know it.
I suppose you're a big fan of Family Circle then?
that's why all rulings should be made immediately available online.
The trick to flying is to throw yourself at the ground, and miss...
Your other mistake:
it says in huge purple letters that it WILL run Linux.
This has a definite "perpose". The guy who cracked it wanted to be able to log in to the root account on his i-opener (which runs QNX). I don't really see how that's any different than using de-css to play DVDs in Linux.
Can this really be a coincidence? I mean, are we sure this isn't just a *huge* hoax?
That's part of the reason they picked it. Not very much chance of accidentally infringing on some unknown trademark this way.
Guess I'll have to rethink my theory :)
thanks.

Anyway, just a thought.
Wow, you can run 1001 copies of Linux? Cool.
Try Yahoo TV. As long as you know the zip code where you're gonna be it should hook you up. I use it all the time.
Not sure if this the one you mean, but here's one mountain dew commercial:s ta-rhymes.html
http://www.adcritic.com/content/mountain-dew-bu
check www.adcritic.com, they usually list the background songs for all the ads there...
