What I would like to see is a Knoppix Based anti-virus for windows. It would be a lot easier to track down and kill viruses when you're booted into Linux and Windows is NOT running, because then the Virus is also not running. A number of viruses actually get worse when you run an anti-virus scan, such as the Chernobyl virus, so it would be benneficial to run an anti-virus while Chernobyl is completely dormant.

Because of genetic engineering, the use of growth hormones and steroids in turkeys isn't necessary. They get preternaturally big on their own.
    And from Adopt a Turkey:
Today's turkeys have been genetically altered to grow twice as fast, and twice as large, as their ancestors.

The lesson learned here is to use multiple layer security. As I said in an earlier post, 1-layer security is always a bad idea. Use a good length WPA (or WEP) as well as Mac-Filtering. Encryption and Filtering both have their weaknesses but combined they are fairly effective.

Before somebody flames me... get out your Laptop with a wireless card and logon to your Wireless Access Point. Go to the MAC-Filtering page, type in your exact MAC address for your laptop's wireless card. Now enable MAC-Filtering. Notice how you can still access wirelessly. Now change a single character in the MAC address you just typed out. You will never be able to access the internet wirelessly again. Unless you hard-wire yourself to it and change the address back.

First person to regain internet access after doing this without hard-wiring back into their LAN wins a monkey.

Well, not quite. Back then different computer models couldn't use the same keyboards, printers, monitors, floppy disks, etc... the only thing that was interchangeable between major computers was the Atari standard of Joystick which other companies like Commodore also used. Today, a mac can take the same RAM as a PC (and you can use a PC video card in a mac if you wan't to forget about using an Apple Display monitor). You can even burn a CD in Linux and open the files up in Windows. To access Commodore 64 files with a PC or Mac disk drive, you need a Cat-Weasel card!
