When this was filmed, Mac's did not have any video capability... at all (other than a crappily animated clip-art thing). 20 years ago, the only personal computer with real video, high-fidelity audio, and real photograph capabilities was the Amiga 1000!
Actually WindowsXP only comes with "internet reversi" which only allows you to play multi-player. So no single player and no play at all without an internet connection.
You fiends! After watching Balmer in this horrible commercial I was forced to push a 30 watt soldering iron through each of my corneas. I will never see again thanks to this slashdot article!!!
You can buy GSM/GPRS modules that allow any standard phone to connect wirelessly, Here's an example... however, Rotary phones draw so much current when they ring that they might kill the batteries in that particular module before you can pick up. And try not to notice the $200 price tag.
Last time I used IRC was to chat in the Distributed.net channel. Of course that was when I still used the built in IRC client in Mozilla before I switched to Firefox.
My guess is that you are either a troll or too stupid to read the whole post. I said CLASSIC NETSCAPE, Not Modern Netscape. I also said OS 3.9, NOT OS 4.0.
The original version of the AmigaOS (originally "Workbench") was built from TripOS. TripOS was a completely written in assembly language for the 68k processor. However it couldn't really even be an OS, it was more of the infrastructure for an OS. Thus when merged with the original Amiga Workbench on an Amiga 1000, you come out with a fast and efficient operating system.
Because TripOS was the infrastructure for AmigaOS and was completely written in 68K assembly, it had to be ripped out... kicking and screaming... for AmigaOS to be ported to PPC. Very little of TripOS remains in the new AmigaOS 4.0
Neither browser supports CSS, for example, which on many websites merely degrades the appearance somewhat, but on some sites messes up the formatting completely. Also, some poorly-coded Javascript code will sometimes cause problems with AWeb and iBrowse.
Oh nothing like shipping an OS in the Internet-age without a working browser. Seems a bit silly to even bother when most people's computers are SOLELY intended for the Web and Email.
You're not completely stuck with only IBrowse and AWEB... CLASSIC NETSCAPE (ie 4 and earlier) has been out forever for AmigaOS 3.9, so I don't see why it couldn't be recompiled for OS 4.0. Maybe that could serve as a gap filler until Mozilla (which is what new Netscape uses) has been ported.
precisely.
The unwashed masses whose computers are nothing more than zombie bots sending out a never ending stream of emails advertising porn, viagra, and adult diapers need to be kicked off the net.
I wish I had her as a client. I can't get mine to pay more than $300 for that service. Bwhahahaha...
Serioiusly though, the place that removed her spyware probably didn't even bother paying for a Liscense for Ad-Aware, they probably just used the free personal version.
If we can just get these "people" to physically unplug their computer instead of just not using them, then there should be a noticeable decrease in the amount of spam and viruses sent from Zombie-Bot Computer Farms.
People too stupid to keep their computer spyware and virus free leaving the internet is a good thing.
I had been drooling over the Omni-directional 7dbi High Gain Antenna's from Linksys to replace my standard Linksys antenna's and at the same time contemplating making a "Cantenna" to connect to a friend's network about a mile away... until I saw yesterday evening that CompUSA is now offering an Omni-directional 9dbi High Gain Antenna set. They are truely massive, the biggest I've ever seen thats not available only on the internet.
If Belkin's pre-802.11n technology can really increase range by 800% using the same standard antenna's and I replace those antenna's with the Omni-directional 9dbi High Gain Antenna's, I may not need to make a "cantenna" anymore.
It might be beneficial to kick Iranians off the net entirely. I receive a report every hour without fail that an IP address owned by Iranian ISP's are scanning each and every port on my system non-stop until my firewall finally gets around to blocking the address. As well as daily reports that an Iranian IP Address is attempting a brute-force break in, which is promptly cut off by my firewall.
Although I get an occasional problem from Russia or Korea, they're not anywhere near the frequency of the attack attempts from Iran.
head on over to www.magnatunes.com and check out one of their free radio stations or you can stream any of their albums for free, it's a good example of streaming media.
Oh har har, very funny. "A website that contains links to a variety of streaming audio or video files", is the precise enough for you Mr. ThinksHe'sFunny?
How often are you given the chance to stream OGG Vorbis?!?!? Magnatunes.com is the only thing I've ever even heard of that streams MP3.
Almost EVERY STREAMING SITE ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET streams Windows Media or Real Player exclusively!!!
I used to watch "Call for Help" and "The Screen Savers" each and every day for a whole year... until G4 and TechTV combined.
After the merge, I tried to keep on watching "The Screen Savers" ("Call For Help" was cancelled pretty quickly) but I just couldn't stand it anymore, the show was becoming awful and boring and now I havn't watched a single show on G4/TechTV in 6 month when I used to watch TechTV non-stop. I miss the OLD TechTV... I WANT IT BACK!!

NOT a simpson's reference. Just completely random. Weirdo.

Hmmm, thats odd. I'm running Netscape 2.0 on my Amiga 500 right now.

Yes! I agree whole-heartedly! Don't pull the plug yet! I still need your computer to send 1 million more spam messages to meet my quota!!

Hundreds of Porn Sites with a never ending array of popup ads with flashing animated gifs and shockwave flash banner ads.
I wonder how thats going to work on his forehead.
I forgot to mention that I also want to increase the range in every direction around my house, I have a big yard.

makes me glad I always choose Real Media Files instead of Windows Media Files when I stream something.
