So it is easier for 3rd party manufactures to make less expensive power bricks because they won't have to resign them for almost every laptop on the market, only for different power requirements. In the end, this will save the consumer money, and space. If I only had have one laptop charger plug in my wall, it would cluttered my desk area as I have 3 in their now.
As someone who just bought a used prius, I'd have to say that your insult is off base. At an AVERAGE of 48.5 mpg, this car doesn't suck. It is big enough for me an my wife, and enough space in the back to drag around groceries/skies/camping equipment/or mulch. As my drag racing days are behind me, what more do you/I need in a car?
That total cost of 240$ is based on them acquiring used material at a radio swap meet, not scavenging it from old stuff I could find in my attic, and definitely no buying from some online supplier. That is, w/o a lot of luck, time, and knowledge- there is no way I could duplicate this effort with ease.
And if you think that a site that gains popularity only cost pennies to run or is easily covered by donations, you clearly have never run, or known anyone who has run, a major site.
No substance, just a rant. And yet, it seems to resonate with some people here at/. The fact is, if something is free** it is either paid for by advertising or tax dollars. And 32 bit processors have been able to address greater than 32bits of memory since PAE introduction at the same time.
Your nitpick of "address pointer size" is simply wrong not as correct as my definition. The instruction set determines which bits are the "address pointers" and which bits go to other operations or operator designators. whether is is 32bit or 64bit is lower level than that.
It isn't just about addressing more than 2 or 4 GB of memory with a single program. In fact, that isn't what 64 bit means. That term "X bit" refers to the the size of the command that a CPU processes at a given per cycle. That is, the maximum registersize used for all math operations, and if done right, the fastest. So large numbers can be dealt with faster. Bench marks show that this only really speeds up computation for a few common computer programs: people doing lots of computations, databases, and audio/video compression/decompression. The later is exactly the reason that flash might do better with 64 bit.
If your post was in jest, I apologize for taking it seriously and resending so verbosely.
When making a decision, you always have to choose your level of consideration. If the question is: given a 10, 20, 33, and 50 mpg car, which one should you buy? The answer is obvious.
Add costs to that, and it is a little harder. Add environmental impact to that, and now a little harder. Add nationalistic implications due to %manufactured in different countries, and now a little harder.
So sure, but all realistic problems have to operate on a layer of abstractness- we don't build bridges while calculating forces at the quantum level.
Now you are adding decision criteria to the question that wasn't there. How about, 'even if a buying the more fuel efficient car would cause my dog to die?'
And to answer your rhetorical question, that all depends on the price of gas, how long I think I'll keep the car, and if I have other needs for that $10,000.
(I took a course in decision theory, so I promise to do my best to come up with an equation to answer any question, no matter how heartless or immoral the answer turns out to be)
You're right, not a trick question- a stupid one. why? because the 50 mpg car is better than all of them. that is the one you buy; that is the one that matters.
But go ahead and repeat the stuff you saw on TV - it only makes you look more intelligent.
sometimes, the only 'facts' I have are ones given to me by news reporters and anchors on Stations big enough to send reporters to far away lands like china. I simply can't fly to china to get the info first hand, and, sadly, I can't read chinese.
Everytime I hear one of them I run to the nearest child and cover their little child ears. It is only then that I feel I'm helping society in any meaningful way.

Were they cute?
Some people with money care about the environment/politics enough to reduce gas consumption.

HAHAHa, too true.
I wholeheartedly support your platform. Where country/state/district are you running in?

This looks like something out of a road runner cartoon, where Wiley coyote follows him in a giant (ACME made) bush.

Youtube says it requires flash 8.
Hulu says it requires 10.0.22 (for the newest features including full screen and Higher Res video)
I'm willing to make up a statistic that says if your flash reader doesn't support these sites, it isn't good enough yet.
Am I happy with the state of things? No. But that IS the state of things.

Km maybe- but liters?!
1 liter = 1 quart (basically). Now everyone gets it.
You're right, not a trick question- a stupid one. why?
because the 50 mpg car is better than all of them. that is the one you buy; that is the one that matters.
Still, two cars crashing at 20 are at less risk of having fatalities than two cars at 100.
I get that, but it is a trade off then. If I never want to get hurt, I should get in my nuclear bunker and never move.

An AC goes Godwin in a parent post and is 'putting his foot down.'
HAHAHAHAHAHA-
Thanks for that.
Let us begin with these-

Our of curiosity, why will it fail? Isn't OCFS2 part of main line kernel now?
Are you ok?
That would have been a way better blog post (from a technical aspect). That being said, there are easy ways to fix that.
Thanks, my script is now updated.
