PasswordMaker.org has a solution that allows you to create passwords using a number of options and hashing algorithms. You use one (or a few) main passwords and then hash those with something specific about the program/application/website you are creating the unique and strong password for. The hash is a repeatable process so long as you can remember the options and password you used to generate it.
There are executables, web applications and embedded source code at their site and it is an open source solution. You are not tied to any particular device or program and can create the hashes from any machine in the world.
You should check out the manager tools podcast at www.manager-tools.com. They have a lot of great manager advice and both come from the technology field.
Good Luck!
We all know that gas prices in the US haven't followed inflation over the past few decades... The main problem isn't that the prices are so high, but that they have shot up over 150% in the last year!
I have an 80-mile round-trip commute to my job in Washington DC. The $0.50 increase in the past two weeks have increased my month traveling costs up by almost 50%!!!
Not so... I love the Xbox and can't wait for Xbox 360... I just don't see the point of this being posted on slashdot... the guy can be as happy and proud of himself as he wants, but this is not the place for it...
You can say that again.
My college had one course releating to the web. I was a computer major and learned nothing that I currently use in my job as the Director of Information Technology. However my hobby (being web-development) is something that I use just about every day.
The only thing college was good for was finding my wife.
I agree... sure, many musicians and artists aren't thinking about thier 'work' 24/7... but the ones that do are the ones that are famous, well-known for their works...
There is a difference between doing something and doing it whole-heartedly...
Ya, No matter how much time I spend working on computers during the day, I still find myself sitting in front of my computer every evening working on one of my hobby websites (http://FreeGratisProducts.com) or doing work for my own web development company (http://socal.jncissler.com) or something else along those lines. Both of those sites bring me in about an extra $125 a month and I enjoy doing them. Hopefully I can make those my main job sometime in the future:)... Nothing like loving what you do!
The key to swapping Firefox for IE is to do it without their noticing. You gotta swap the IE icon for the Firefox icon and set it up using an IE-like theme. Set it up as the default browser so everything will use it and then let them go. All they care about is being 'comforable' using it, so as long as they don't know it isn't IE...:)
That would be lovely though, wouldn't it... we need someone to develope a cable service where we can just watch and pay for the shows we want to watch without having any commercials.
too bad the business plan for that is a bad one:(
I think not reporting poles until the end of ANY of the elections would be a great idea. We have freaking CNN reporting their predictions all dang day long and it only frustrates people watching. We should all vote and then the next day or two they announce the outcome. Quick and simple. Don't have to waste the news stations for 3 days showing charts that don't make sense and telling us what they think may happen.
Apple, I'm sure, has no problem with their bandwidth for iTunes. They just want to make money anyway they can.
They hit you coming in and on the way out as well...
I absolutly HATE that... My freaking name is not John! It is Jonathan, and if you are too dang lazy to spell that out, then it is Jon... not John or Johnathan or any other way you might create to spell my name. Get it right or get the heck out of my way!
Between Doom 3, Diablo 2 Expansion, Jedi Acedemy and Master of Orion 3, I could play for days on end! Unfortunatly my wife and my job get in the way of that:)...
But seriously... I have noticed times when i was in college (just graduated in 2004) where I would look forward to getting back to my room and finishing that next mission or conquering that next planet... Even planning my moves while in Computer classes... Guess you just have to be able to limit yourself sometimes.
We are sorry but the slashdoting of a 250MB file was a bit more than we had planned for. We will re-post this file later in the day or this evening once the initial rush cools off. Thank you for your patience.
Nothing can stop us!:) Even NASA had to bow down to the massive power that is slashdot...

I've heard people refer to Verizon as the phone company from hell...

Only if the "right" gas company was one making the car. Not exactly a great analogy there...
damn... how'd you figure that out?!? :P

Well isn't Jeff Special that his most acclaimed development is included in the Xbox 360...
Garage sale or ebay would be good bets...

Anyway, who wants to join up and make our own cable system!
P.S. to anyone who is excited about this, you can send money via paypal to...

If Halo 2 was a disappointment to you, then that is your own problem. I absolutely loved it and think that it was worth "all the hype"...

I think he was talking about another article that had that point. But yes, that is not what this article says or even hints towards.
