    - Then I looked closely at the Register article. The source of this "news" is one man: Greg Palast.
Who is Greg Palast? Here's a taste of what he's written.

There was a time where there was a president that was accused of wrongdoing by two reporters (just two, working together). I believe those names are Woodward and Bernstein.

I've read all those articles, and more, Like the expose of the deals that clinton did to keep the indonesian money out of his political life. He's written anti-gore things as well.

It either makes him anti-everyone.... or possibly someone that has something to say.

In Palast's words, Investigative journalism is a thing so rare, they actually wrote a book about it.

Problem is: US media is so 'in-bed' with the presidency, that they don't fact check anything.

    I could go on....

Greg Palast has an interesting record regarding Investigative journalism. Unfortunately, because he actually does investigation, he is not quoted in the US.

He was the first to talk about the Ballot issues within florida in the 2000 election, but when he tried to get it on the air in the US, (I believe it was with CBS), the editors there told him that his facts did not check out. When asked who they contacted to fact check, the editorial staff replied that they contacted Jeb Bush's office.

I'm not one to believe what someone tells me is true, but, looking at the facts, and putting it all together leads to a certain way of thinking.

This guy (who is not a prodigy user) gets an email from prodigy, who says that because of his aberrant activities is being cut off from the service.

This is the way that things should be. if someone is being abusive, and someone contacts his ISP about it, they have every right to suspend his service. In this case however, this was an account based on fraudulent info.

The service discovers that they have 'several' accounts for this guys imposter.

Prodigy (for varied fraud from this imposter)

I don't see how an ISP would know it is doing wrong until the perpetrator does wrong. 1. the computer is more than a collection of parts. when we geeks put it together, build a kernel, etc, we are doing it not for the sake of imitation, we are looking at a final result.... a working system (how we define 'working' is dependant on what the criteria is)

    2. seeing the Fujitsu/seimens version (in translucent black) the Fish PC version (in banal colors) and another version of this AMD specification computer (Easy NOW!) is not a rip off, unless apple has trademarked a 'new way' of 'thinking about computers' (namely Computers as furniture). again, no big news to you or me, but the garish colors are typical of the dumbed down computer.

    3. EasyNOW! is not an apple derivation, nor (to my eyes) does it even look like one. It might, to a person that is afraid of a pointing device (because it is called a 'mouse'. Don't laugh, i used to train people in software and there were a few, but i digress)

Apple is pissed that they created a new paradigm and now people are using that paradigm. Its like linus saying 'hey, I have this new operating system, you can use it, you can help with the design, but only I can sell it' Thoughts cannot be patentable, only how something is implemented.

I would not mistake this machine for a mac, nor would my wife (who is blissfully computer ignorant), but the small minds at apple see anything with a non-box design and with translucent obscene colors as plaigarism.

Remember that this is the same government that chose to spend millions of dollars to find illegal actions with our President (which the president so graciously supplied), even though many of the men that were on the witchhunt have things to hide themselves.

When sites like aclu.org are censored its a political act, not an ethical one. I don't subscribe to the view of the ACLU, but I defend their right to do what they do.
