    I don't see why the average person cares about "counterfeiters". I buy stuff some Alibaba that most people would consider "counterfeit", but who cares if it is? It is the same quality as the "real" product and is typically run on the same production lines, but costs 10% of what the "real" product is. Considering we have exploding phones from some of the largest companies in the world (Samsung) and $100 shirts that fall apart in a few months, you can't really argue that the "real" stuff is better quality.

    I'm not sure why this is modded down, but it is 100% correct. Most Space Nutters get their "knowledge" from scifi, not reality. The reality is that engineering is tough, very tough. I am not talking about programming either. Anyone who has engineered anything even moderately complex knows we are not going to be living on Mars.

    Although people like Al Gore like to fly around in business jets, it is doubtful they have much impact on CO2 emissions compared to your typical plebeian driving his car to work every day. You might as well also complain about people like Al Gore, who have four vacation homes.

    This is 100% correct. Apple knows Moore's Law is ending and the upgrade train is over. There will be no reason in 5 years to update the laptop you are using today....because there won't be any appreciable differences in speed.

    Isn't a MacBook pro $2400-$2800???? You can do a Paris vacation on that. That is insane to spend that much money on a laptop in 2017.

    Wow. Someone is stupid and that someone is you. His point is that the data is already PUBLIC, it is POSTED ON TWITTER. So why make it harder for them to get to the data? They are going to get it no matter what. The difference is that one method is presumably more expensive than another.
