    I never understood this argument. Google literally has TENS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN CASH. They have plenty of resources. They just choose not to spend it. Ridiculous.

  7. Why are Universities implementing garbage like this? This is just a webcam search engine mashed together with a police database. Universities are supposed to be doing novel research, not re-implementations of existing ideas.

    What biggest competitors have it enabled by default? Maybe WhatsApp. You don't think Facebook/skype/etc are scanning your messages? No one really knows about WhatsApp either. It isn't open source so you have no idea what it is really doing.

    Those are special characters. We can only handle ASCII characters. We are planning full UTF8 support in 2032.

    That is foolish. You shouldn't trust a computer or network that is insecure. It doesn't mean that computers and networks are bad or not useful. You just can't trust them to be secure.

    Uh, I think *developer* means you actually *develop* the software. Otherwise she would be an architect. She removed ONE line of code (a double free). That is it. That isn't a core developer.
