    how about you configure your webserver? even PHP needs to be plugged in to "simply suffix a file with .php, and any code between PHP tags will be executed" -- it does not automagically work.

    And these snobbish attitudes are exactly the reason why linux has difficulty in desktop penetration and overall mindshare.

    first of all, i see you have a lowish uid and should know better before talking shit. second, i know that OpenBSDs `mission statement' is to provide a solid, free, secure OS -- what's the goal of Linux, handholding and making friends? i think not.

    and before the RMS-squad starts gnawing on the back of my head, lets assume he wrote GNU/Linux and was not referring just at the kernel.

    wow, it's when i see questions like these that i realize what kinda people code PHP and give it such a bad name. first of all, you could have just used the PECL extension as suggested above, which *will suffice*. or, in the worst case just exec() the binaries, like any normal person would do. not bringing Perl into the equation. what in the name of doctor frankenstein?

    i had the exact same problem with yahoo mail ending up in the bulk folder (mailserver ip was X-YahooFilteredBulk). it was easily fixed by contacting support and filling out a hefty form. so, your best bet is (surprisingly enough) tech support. i'm sure even MS has people that can help you with that.

    If you can safely assume that any combination of parts that physically fit together can run Windows, why shouldn't *nix users be able to have that same expectation?

    because most hardware doesn't ship with bundled *nix drivers?
