    Ah, no, actually it would be 7 * 5 * 42, or 1470 - quite realistic, actually.

however, ALL gadget watches (with the sole exception of the Breitling with the emergency beacon in it) look like cack on your wrist and mark you out as a sad sack.

Not all, really. I've got a La Crosse WWVB watch and it's quite nice, really - looks no different from a generic digital watch.

There ARE nice-looking gadget watches. It just takes a bit of searching to find one.

Correct if I am wrong, but doesn't such an action just legitimize the claims of the SCO group?

Actually, it refutes some of them.

SCO has said "if you're so sure your code doesn't infringe on our IP, why aren't you indemnifying customers?" Novell is now doing just that and, in a way, standing up for the community as well as saying "nanny nanny boo boo" to SCO.

  9. ASIMO tour in USA on Japanese Robot on Diplomatic Tour · · Score: 2, Interesting

Yeah, ASIMO is currently on "tour" in the US. They were in Boston recently.

The presentation, IMHO, sucked. And I mean really sucked.

It was staged like a rock concert, with REALLY loud music and far too many flashing lights. Designed for the modern child! (*cough*ADHD*cough*) Then they brought in the robot itself, and protrayed it as an AI. It's remote controlled, but the actress (who was sort of annoying anyway) talked to it as if it was a human. I mean, please. It's a seriously awesome feat of engineering; they don't need to turn impressive science into impressive science fiction.
