My parents didn't seem to like it when I told them that. The worst part is that my dad is upper management for an IT company that has some of the best tech support people I've met.
Look, if a group is doing something illegal, then why not sue them? I'm against law suits for things that are silly (not protecting people from their own stupidity), but when there is a clear law saying that they can't do something, and they do it anyway, we need to stop them. Otherwise the laws are pointless. How would you recommend fixing it? How would you stop calls from coming in if you got called every few minutes by computers?
Yes, make it like iTunes so that you have to use a mouse to do anything and trying to play full screen (or double clicking on the video window) closes the video window.
Now, I've never used VLC, but I'm really missing the simplicity of winamp2 these days
It seems to me that when the majority of the population is breaking a particular law (such as copyright infringement), there is something wrong with that law.
Who supports you when the conterfeit hardware has a problem? Do you really expect Cisco to help you out once they found out that it's really not Cisco gear? Could Cisco even help you if the hardware is different? What about being able to find documentation, chances are the counterfeit gear isn't as well documented and googling for answers might not help you.
For small things I really don't care about counterfeit (clothes, small items at home), but if you depend on something, you should make sure that it's backed up properly.
Where I work, every computer is required to have a power on password and a harddrive password. In addition, I was given a Lenovo T60p for work, and it has an integrated fingerprint scanner.
The only reason I won't encrypt my harddrive is since it will hurt my performance.
Many large orgs want machines that are identical. Dell cannot always provide that. Like one of the parents said, if a machine goes bad they will give you a "free upgrade", but some IT shops wany identical hardware. A "free upgrade" will actually cost them the time and effort of making an new image.
How would you raise your children? Tell them to go to bed, and then never check on them to make sure that they are asleep? Give them money and trust they they will not buy candy with it? Give them access to every cable channel and never watch what they watch?
So what do you do when a charity keeps on calling?
I donated money to the MN Fraternal Order of Police and I've been getting police charity orgs calling me every month now. After the second time I requested to be removed from the list. And I still get called every month.
Next step, write them a letter, record the next call I get, and find out what government org I can call to get them fined.
Remember, if Safety Services calls you for a donation, save yourself some hassle, and refuse.
having a volume that's 33% larger doesn't mean it contains 33% more hydrogen. The solution of borohydride and water probably has a greater density of hydrogen then liquid hydrogen.
I agree with you...but I don't have kids. Give the GP a break unless you have kids of your own...and even then realize that the GP still deserves a break.

it can't be being used by Google. Remember, Don't be evil.
We in rich countries can afford to buy books that cost more then this laptop...

If you want firefox to use very little memory when minimized, set config.trim_on_minimize to true.
There is a performance cost to using that option, and since I don't expect minimized windows to free memory, I don't use it.

or something wrong with the people
My understanding was that the JVM represented a 32bit stack machine. Can you produce a link?

He was talking about fraudulent individual transactions. For those, the credit card companies do pay and the end user does not.

Yeah, but IBM could have asked those same questions, and the judge could force SCO to respond to them.

You will trust them, won't you?
You're right, they should chage each student more so that the students have the right to use the internet any way they wish.
or get a slingbox and a dvr and watch the game on your laptop.
Thanks for the hint, I've been trying to figure out how to do that in windows for a long time.
Apple makes FairPlay work on on Windows.
I'm sure MS is free to make Play's For Sure work on OSX

Yeah, and nerds don't care about supercomputers, exotic hardware, or even server technology.
I bet they gave him a license. As representatives of the copyright holders, they can do that.
From what I read Toshiba will be manufacturing them for Sony and IBM will manufactuing them for IBM
Just google for "full mesh fail-over" "ppp links" and...no, wait, forget that....
