Why are we so concerned about effects of environment on other planets when we can't even haul our a**es of this one.
I say we cross that bridge when we get to it - whichever century that may be!
I have found that to get the best results from Google
you need to remove common words and phrases that have been used by SEO's.
For example, I was looking for a particular hotel in Paris recently. If "Hotel" and "Paris" were in the search string, I got garbage. Just naming the hotel got me lucky every time.
And don't even bother trying "Paris Hilton":)
Actually good news for SCO. THe first indication that Baystar may actually back off on it's threat/request in exchange for for changes in the way SCO does business.
It sounds to me that Baystar is unhappy with the way SCO has been doing things and will likely come to an agreement that allows SCO to keep the money (for the moment) in exchange for some management changes - perhaps.
Saturday last, a repairman came over from Sear's to
do a prev maintenance on our dishwasher. All he did
was hook up a laptop to a connection inside the machine - executed a few diagnostics and left 3 minutes later! The bill was $114 - but cost us nothing under the warranty.
I believe Swarmbots and related technology will have a place in future robotic missions to Mars that will precede human exploration.
Spirit and Opportunity are independent explorers but future missions will (should) involve specialised rover that will cooperate with each other in mining, materials processing, construction, scientific analysis and exploration.
Conspiracy folks - please note. The source of this and other recent stories regarding SCO has been the Seattle office of Reuters!

For those of you that need a constant SCO fix... it seems the place to be is on the Yahoo finance boards
General consensus is that the stock will tank any day now , I'm looking forward to seeing the blood run freely.
All the futurists depict Martian/Lunar colonies
as above ground structures/modules launched from
Earth.
I am convinced that humans and robots that wish to remain permanently on the moon or Mars will need
to bury themselves underground to protect themselves from the radiation.
Further, I believe that as a precursor to these permanent outposts, we will send up mining robots
to develop the required infrastructure.
Surely, this clause in the legislation which WILL be enforced Wednesday indicates that the telemarketers will need mor folks on hand - insteads of putting the consumer on hold until the next agent becomes free
"When a telemarketer calls a residence, a person or recorded voice must begin talking within two seconds after the consumer answers. "

I've never seen one that long on the front page before.
I guess the moral of my story is You'll never get luck with "Paris Hilton"
I'm sorry - but Google is all that matters. 95% of my search engine traffic comes from Googe and it's regional derivatives.

IIRC, Cory "bats for the other team"
If you look at this image - it seems to me the bright artifical object may be the heatshield.
Too much CGI - especially in the backdrops. This does not go down too well with the powers that be in this categroy - the cinematographers.

Perhaps not a coincidence that an article about TunA is followed by one about fish.
Looks like the always-on network just became the always-off network
That's an awful lot of pr0n!

There can be no other plausible rationale behind this. McBride et al are taking great pleasure from all this.
