Your argument is fine and all, but if I was a judge this would be my ruling. Google must award Mark Maughan $20 mil, as long as Mr Maughan completes a search for each of the 6 billion people living on the planet, and researches whether any of the pages are slanderous or untrue.
How about we kill ANYONE who buys something from a spam. In fact that would tie in nicely with my policiy of killing anyone whose punishments are too harsh.

After 10 minutes of bouncing and rolling, it has come to a rest and transmitted its signal. There are no fault tones, indicating that there were no errors during landing and rolling.
Just replace the bold words with: "Genetic Information," and "you know what."
So all this 'new invention' does is save a bunch of files in a "folder" called xxx.SXD? If the patent is obtained, does this mean saving all my files in a folder with.SXD is illegal?

With p2p people are getting something for nothing. Morals are not concerned when you get something for nothing, especially when you can't see the guy you are screwing over (or possibly not screwing over - I think every downloaded song shouldn't be treated as a "lost sale," I doubt most people would buy all the songs they download. This screws up all the statistics certain large corporations might throw at you).
anyway back on topic, being scared of RFID is probably not unfounded. I imagine some corporation will use this for their gain and someone else's loss someday (hell Wal-Mart is already kinda doing it). Linkage here

The RIAA is greatly enamored of the concept and has helped the company get access to government officials.

Umm, Notepad doesn't compete with MS word, it dominates it.
