    So what if you can test that the software does "X" as designed? Very many bugs are because the spec/design should be to do "Y" instead.

    That's why tests of "software correctness" are not that useful in most real world scenarios.'

    Modifying correct (verified) code to be valid is many times easier than modifying incorrect code to be valid.

    It's a random subsample of a biased sample; this is basically cherry-picking the data and a strong indicator of deliberate deception, if not malevolent intent.

    Corporations don't have goals, stakeholders do :) (/pedantic) The maximization of profits is a requirement of law and a desire of the shareholders.

    One can as well have a legal regime in which corporations are organizations for the provision of goods and/or services for the benefit of people and for which the generation of profits is a cost needed to entice investment for capital.

    I would rephrase that as: The purpose of government is to serve people in a way that keeps them from destroying each other; in that any social institutions should be present for the benefit of people.
    Otherwise, it's just replacement of government with society as the raison d'etre for tyranny.

    Actually, it was piracy in Defoe's original use of it wrt copying. What it wasn't was copyright infringement (in the US) (at the time).
