Looking at Saturn is great and all (hell, I'll probably be doing it myself), but why aren't we nailing that sucker with a probe or something? When we got close to Mars, NASA and Europe fired off three probes, yet Saturn is the closest in 30 years and we aren't sending anything? Is there a rocket scientist here who wants to explain?
All rights in the Products are owned by WALMART.COM or its licensors and you have only a limited, nontransferable, nonexclusive, revocable, nonsublicensable right to use the Products for personal use in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
What the fsck is "revocable" doing in there? Why should I pay Walmart one red cent if they can just roll back my rights whenever they want to? That has to be against some law, right? Or else you're not really "purchasing" the song, more like it's being leased to you.
That is definitely a mac. Perhaps the artist simply copied the design of a macintosh menu for the purposes of the picture, but that is definitely a mac style menu. Windows doesn't style menus like that, not even Win 3.11.
Personally, I think it's a bloated piece of crudware. It pops up zillions of ads for garbage, the player's slow,...; there are a million reasons. I used to respect Real; they used to be a good company. But now that their marketshare has declined, they're going and taking advantage of all the people who do use RealPlayer. The only reason people bother having RealPlayer on their systems is to play streaming broadcasts encoded in Real codecs, and now, most sites offer streams in both Windows Media Player and Real formats. Look at Amazon, they offer samples from music cds in Real and WMP format.
Anyway, this lawsuit has no merit. My Dell laptop came preloaded with MusicMatch, WMP, and RealOne! Three video/audio players! Nobody needs that much. Standardize on maximum 2. I uninstalled RealPlayer because it was so worthless...
As soon as I saw this on/.'s front page, I went "Oh dear God"... Anyone else think, when glancing at the headline, that spammers had purchased a retired boat, put it in international waters, and spammed away from it?
Then I RTFA'ed. Pretty sad that military servers are compromised by nothing other than some stupid spammers. Makes you think what Chinese or other rogue government sponsored hackers could do to our systems if we even went to war with them....
The next war, if we fight it with a non african or Middle Eastern country, is going to involve cyber assualts. Hope the Pentagon is going to firm up their defenses more, both electronically and physically. Maybe they can even get the services of Akamai; they're practically DDOS-proof.
Yeah, I used to play the Pokemon CCG, and knew 10-11 other people who used to play it. I spent at least several thousand dollars purchasing cards, and another few hundred dollars purchasing the Game Boy games (Click here to see more about my Pokemon Gameboy games). Why do I refer to the past? Because Toysrus has stopped hosting the Pokemon Leagues and tournaments. Nintendo keeps releasing new card sets (I believe the latest is EX Dragon, and I've heard a lot of good things about it), but if they want their players (and payers) back, they'll have to start hosting more Leagues and tournaments.
Then I'll ban all email from all IPs from foreign countries... Do I really need to receive email from China? Heck no.
Sooner or later, the only countries that will allow spam are going to be some Asian countries like india and China... and guess what? someone is going to have the bright idea of putting up a second Great China Firewall, killing all email outgoing from China....
Where the fsck are the games? I'm going to buy a GameCube when Pokemon Colosseum come out, and then perhaps Rebel Strike and Zelda. Where is Colosseum? Nintendo said previously it would be released for Christmas, but now, apparently, I have to wait until March to snag it.
Coincidently, I was looking at that website recently, to get a small LCD screen (the one here). Unfortunately, they don't sell a controller board or anything. How am I supposed to link it to a computer without an appropriate connector? Can anyone help?
Does anyone know where to get motherboards and hard drives that small? I'm about to start on a project that would benefit from a tiny motherboard, the type that fit into this cellphone's case, and I haven't been able to find any sources except for the upcoming nano-itx form.
In other legal action, IBM on Wednesday subpoenaed Sun Microsystems; which recently expanded its Unix license with SCO Group and has a warrant to purchase shares in the company; Schwartz Communications; a public relations firm that represents SCO; and defense contractor Northrop Grumman. IBM spokeswoman Guarino couldn't immediately describe the purpose of the subpoenas.
I wonder why IBM subpoenaed Northrop Grumman? SCO says Grumman didn't buy any shares (although I don't believe that farther than I can kick it)...
I RTFAed, and personally, I wouldn't mind trying out the Linux Kernel Personality capability (although it sounds like it's stolen GPL code). SCO was once a decent company, with good programmers, so maybe once SCO dies a horrible and hideous death, we can buy off the UnixWare source code and GPL the good stuff.

Wasn't ICQ done by an Israeli company? Too lazy to Google..
Guess who owns the realnetworkssucks.com domain reg? The White House IT staff's favorite site, and porn peddler, whitehouse.com (yes, note the .com) (discriminatory CAPTCHA required). Guess I can't reg it. realnetworkssucks.com links to the sucks500.com site...
Anyone here use RealPlayer?

Consider this two thumbs way way down for Real.
It's been some time since my last Chem class, but that's water, right? Two Hydrogen molecules bound to one oxygen molecule, making the classic H(2)O?
NTFS or FAT?
Of course you need a torpedo, silly. You need the torpedo to blow the spammers out of the water!

/. discussion talking about the lawsuit when it was filed.
And yes, Nintendo did take away the Pokemon card game control from Wizards many months ago. Wizards filed a lawsuit, but I don't know what the status of that is. I hear it's mostly baseless. Here's a
I'm an American, but consider me to be at your service if you need Java or any website help. Hope this scheme is legal in Canada though....
Corrected... Now I really have to run... Thanks.
Sorry, I'll correct that immediately after I return from my Calc exam (U of Wisc at Madison student, finals week...)

Hell, I'll work as a bounty hunter for free, as long as I get to bash the spammer in the head... That's my "payment" for my "work".
Yeah, what will they think of next?

Also, where is Halo 2 and Starcraft: Ghost? Both of them were slated to be released by Christmas, but Microsoft pushed Halo 2 back to April, and Blizzard has pushed Ghost to February. I was really looking forward to Ghost too, just look at these screenshots....

...fscking wrong. I just hope the IBM team can disprove SCO's allegations without the community's help.
According to my SCO Countdown - Counting Down To The End Of This fiaSCO website, there's just slightly more than 19 days until SCO has to finish giving it's evidence. Happy hunting, IBM...

So does SCO sucks and scum group blatantly steals the design.
