>why add extra production step and a whole new type of infrastructure?
Because Hydrogen can be stored. Electricity cannot be stored easily. Hydrogen is meant to be a battery, not a fuel, in the new economy.
So, then the question becomes how to reduce the frequency of 'idiots' on highways that have traffic jams. For that we need to know more about 'idiots'. How are they formed? How many of them are there? It is a permanent label or a temporary one? Is someone a universal idiot or merely an idiot to some people or at certain times? Can we implement additional training to solve the 'idiot problem'? Can we implement additional technology to reduce the effect of 'idiots' on traffic? Should we do any of the above?
I'm sure that at times I've fallen into this 'idiot' category and have contributed to traffic jams. At other times, I'm very conscious about working with other drivers to eliminate the jams. I imagine that at those times I'm no longer an 'idiot'.
My first reaction was 'its not YOUR place'. Let the person beside you in front of you and maintain a consistent speed with a big gap in front of you. Allowing people to go around you without getting emotional will kill the traffic jam provided that you maintain a constant speed/increase your speed slowly.
whenever the swarm reaches a certain number the central computer orders them to build another central computer which will build and control its own swarm.
Depending on the task assigned to the swarm from the central computer, the swarm could build a set of subswarms first equal to the number of tasks and then the group of central computers could 'decide' which sub-swarm handles which piece.
After all, they won't be THAT independent. They will have a set of tasks that they are capable of doing and intelligent direction at the highest level.
I don't think "dick size" is applicable because I see far more 100 lb women driving Sport Utility Vehicles than I do men. Trip to the Grocery store, pick up the kids, etc.
The market forces will dicatate the rise of linux. No state sponsership is needed. While I see the necessity of government spending, I don't think that subsidies for linux are necessary nor desirable. It'd be better to give that 250K back to the taxpayers.
It did? Gosh, I don't remember that. And I'm old enough to have voted for Reagan. Twice.
You don't remember because you were/are part of the problem. The Reagan years were about FUD. If you Replace the word Communist with Terrorist you get the Bush Empire years....more FUD.
What is impressive about AMD from your post is that their EXECUTIVES answered a technical question correctly. It shows that the management is cluefull which will drive their products better than their competition.
I can't remember the last time I turned on my television, but it's not something I'd go around mentioning. It's not an "issue" for me. I've been more interested in other things. Games, music, engineering, literature, they're all just more interesting at most given moments.
Its hard for me to believe that your life is anything more than/. You, KFG, post more than any other sn. (Analysis over 2 years) I don't think you have time for any of those extraneous things that you've mentioned.
committees are horrible at getting things done in a timely manner. I'd rather there be a dictatorship at the FBI because they are so much more efficient.
on the flip side the amount of damage that a terrorist can do barring nuclear ability is negligible and does not threaten the majority
of our society. The survivors persevere much annoyed. 9/11 was a lot of damage but 99.9% of the country was safe. The only real threat is not rogue psychopathic elements, its large militaries and we win those battles every time.
I had similar problems. Anaconda froze on me multiple times. It made me scream and yell at Python because the language allows for the kind
of hanging that I was encountering.
Anytime I tried to customize the install it blew up.
So, I did a default desktop installation with no changes and I got a system installed. I have since been modifying it to have everything it needs. Boot time is very slow.
the great thing about this is that the research is done. you can stop it and start it again any time you want. knowledge is forever as long as it is recorded.
No. Not unfair. We've been involved in the world for a long time (to our(USA) detriment), a little bit of isolationism is good for America. I hope to see the USA pull out of the rest of the world and stop buying goods from the rest of the world. It's time to get back to basic fundamentals which means you've got to help yourself (America) before you can go around and help other people (World who can't afford to spend 50$ Million on a private space race).

I only wish you would have had to go through one PARTIAL course which I've taken...
He dropped those...

I guess I'd take them more seriously than you because they know how to spell the word 'hire'.
I'll be dead.

I actually like Red Hat and I installed Fedora Core 3 and 2 and 1.
Everything does not just work.
There are a lot of things that need to be configured.
The installer broke on me 4 times.
Direct Rendering with my graphics card won't.
The documentation is nonexistant.
Multimedia and Java functionality doesn't just work.
This is buggy software. However, I don't mind fighting with it to make it do what I want because that is what I do. I make buggy software work.
I had similar problems. Anaconda froze on me multiple times. It made me scream and yell at Python because the language allows for the kind of hanging that I was encountering.

it doesn't really exist for fedora core 3 yet. However it's not too different from FC2 and that exists to some extent.
the word you want is pedantic.
yeah, but I don't want to employ/reward those Bush-voting welfare-stealing southerners with my consumer dollars.
I don't mind outsourcing to Ireland or England (as was done in the 80s). These countries share my social values.
India doesn't. The South doesn't. China Doesn't.
Let them rot.
