Yes, clearly does work that way. I can't remember the last time there was a shootout between Philip Morris and BAT over who gets the right to sell cigarettes in JuÃrez. You are arguing that prohibition is better then regulation, which is clearly bullshit, as we saw with the US in the 30s. Prohibition drives a market underground, away from the law, and empowers the most vicious people with wealth and influence beyond compare. The products they sell, due to their illegality, are often low-quality, and can be dangerous due to said quality. Does that sound familiar? If you are complaining about the effects of the drugs being sold, then that is a matter of public education. Again, you just have to look to the Netherlands or Portugal for great demonstrations on how that is clearly a matter for healthcare providers (oh, we're talking about the US, so forget that - there's no money in preventing abuse), information campaigns, and improvements in the quality of life for the poorer people (as happy people tend not to be addicts).

Comparing the regulated drug market in the west to blood diamonds in poor Africa is fucking ridiculous.

But yeah, it's just easier to say "Fucking brown bastards! Let them kill each other!" and be done with it.

One side has evidence, one side does not. Or, say, do you want research money split 50/50 between evolutionary biologists and creation biologists? Is that more fair to you? Science does not work that way - if you can show your work is based on established facts, and has a high likelihood of furthering your field of study, you get grant money. Currently *all* the evidence points to AGW, and the Earth going through climate change is so deftly demonstrated rational people don't question it any more. Just as most people don't question gravity, or where babies come from. Pumping money into researchers who are arguing against supported evidence with no evidence of their own is not good for anyone, which is why anti-AGW folks don't get as much. It's one-sided for a reason. You just don't like the reason.

You can easily run older versions of IE in XP virtual PCs on Windows 7 - you can even download the XP image from Microsoft. On my web development machine, I have IEs 6, 7, 8, & 9, all running as the only version of IE on that machine (be it virtual or otherwise). Each browser runs as normal - a window on your desktop, even though it's actually running on a virtual machine. It's really useful. It's also included in the price of some flavours of Windows 7. So, the only extra cost of running any version of IE is, at most, minimal, and if their licensing already covers it, free.

Hint: I live in Germany. I've read the law regarding Swastikas, and I've seen the way they are treated, which is perfectly fine with me - when used correctly, as in not a symbol for people to get behind and wreak devastation and murder upon millions, they are used frequently and without censoring or censuring. I don't watch Anime, like most Germans, so it's not that great a deal. Also I have the internet, like most Germans (and with better speeds for less money than most places), so I can access any Anime I want to, and the police won't come knocking, as they don't give a shit about that. And you can't track people by running TOR nodes, unless you are talking specifically about an exit node, and even then only when people using it send their personal information through it in cleartext, the same thing that any ISP could do. Big fucking deal. Your arguments have changed greatly since you first made them, which is a good indicator you are most likely so full of shit your ears are sponsored by Charmin.
