No, it seems the problem was a hacked DLL didn't work as expected with the software it was supposed to be used with. Windows has no method of this kind of 'DRM'.
I think this is exactly where the government should step in - it's just another way for handset manufacturers to make money, at the expense of the public (as in we don't actually get any added value - just a bunch of different chargers).
So Iridium went back in time, infiltrated Russia in order to design and launch a dummy satellite to lie in space, waiting 16 years to smack into their satellite? Brilliant. So simple.
I hate to break it to you, but Tux is generic, uninteresting, derivative, and about as cute as a million assorted random marketing devices. He's nothing special. Heck, the Windows flag icon is as cute as Tux.
Uh-oh... correlation does not equal causation:) Netscape was a fucking AWFUL browser compared to IE. Pinning its downfall on MS's bundling of IE with Windows is a bit far-fetched.
I imagine it's because people want to use software when they double-click the icon. They don't want to have to download the latest version and wait for it to install before doing what they were originally going to do. Firefox is a great example of that - it's forever telling me about new versions. I'd rather it just install them in the background, so when I double click the Firefox icon I get to use Firefox. Google Chrome updates silently in the background, and I never even notice it update - all I see is every time I use it it's the latest version. Applications are not cars we tinker with - they are tools. They have a purpose and a use, and 'update and install' is neither.
They could, but then providers of anti-spyware/malware software would sue. Just like what happened in Europe. MS are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
Iraq invaded after the US said it didn't give a rat's ass about Arab-Arab conflicts. Iraq went into Kuwait to stop the Kuwaitis directional-drilling into Iraqi oil fields. The US had no problem with that.
1. He was talking about the Israeli regime, not the country. 2. The US has done all of that, is doing that, and will continue to do that.
Iran has been behaving itself rather nicely. Sure there are some screwed up things, but seeing as they've not invaded anyone in over 100 years, and the US is currently in two of its neighbours, you might imagine they're not exactly overwhelmed with love or a feeling of security.
Aero is completely optional. No-one has to use it. If someone has a graphics card that can cope with it (which is most of them), then they can use these features. And yes, they are features - they are quite useful to some people in ways you might not have thought of.
I like Vista:) I hate ME. Seriously - I got a new Dell for work a couple of years back with Vista on it. I thought I'd try it out to see what the fuss was about, and planned to wipe it and put XP on it. I'm still using it, and I've not re-installed it since. It does what I want, it's fast, it behaves itself nicely. I turned the UAC off, but that's it. Games work great, Adobe CS3 works great, no complaints.
But ME can fuck right off. I got a new PC shortly after ME was released, and it came with ME. God damn that OS pissed me off. Games crashed, the OS crashed, my head assploded frequently. Gaaah.
Vista and ME are not in the same ballpark to me. Vista is fine (for me), and ME sucked ass (for me).
I was lucky enough to be in northern Cyprus when the power for almost the entire country went out. After a few minutes the black sky turned almost completely white. I'd give an awful lot to see that again.

Try using that when you're making a call and your battery is nearly dead :)

You said it yourself - almost anything. When that word is no longer needed, you'll have a very solid point indeed.
They also reflect EM radiation. Just FYI.
The farce is strong with this one.

That's not AGPS.

It's easy to judge from the west.
Mr. Robert.
No.
Shame there's not a +5, Not-all-presidents-are-the-same.
I like how you wrote his middle name like it means something scary to you. Dick.
The majority of traffic over bittorrent is pirated software/tv shows/music/movies.

The phrase "you get what you pay for" springs to mind :)
I thought they were still human/x-female - have they been adopted as a standard yet? Has anyone actually seen one??

Maybe you should read the summary again.
