I hope you realize that just because the suffle has 58% of flash market the past 3 months does not mean the number of devices out there reflect that number. It could be that 90% of flash mp3 are non ipod, and just that shuffle is just starting to break that market.
I know the iPod is wonderful, i see it everywhere. However, Apple is keeping it closed, however WMA is open (as in anyone can implement it without much trouble). In the long run, I am willing to bet that Apple with loose its charm with Teenagers and all (come on Pres. Bush is using it).
The other reason i think it is fine is, I can get car stereos based on WMA, I PDA does it, and I can bet the next xbox will too. I think this allows the online stores to use WMA.
Plus it is not like they are going to fairplay(Apple wont let them) and it will be a waste to build their own.
I have never experienced a problem with IE. Did not get adware installed. I switched because i wanted some of the features. Namely Tabs, and Web Developer. If it were not for those, well i do not think i would care enough.
What i find is funny is that half the people say it is fugly, and the other half that it looks like an apple product...
So I know it is just bunch of people that just think MS product so it sucks...
I hate you jackasses, I bet you were the same people that complained about the original xbox controller. That thing was the most comfertable controller
Well Windows XP without SP2 does bother you to visit / download windows updates 3 times after you setup your comptuer. However seems like 3 times was not enough for a lot of people.
I do not know samba supports it, but i know windows does let you sign traffic that is sent. But i do not think all the traffic can be encrypted. I think you have to be a domain member to encrypt traffic. But i might be wrong.
Why not treat opensource the same way too. Most opensource projects have similar rules like closed source vendors.
It information cuts both ways, it protects those who know how to secure, and sacrifices those who do not know how to secure.
There is no one good way to release vulnerability information, no matter what you will sacrifice someones needs. The best you can do is to keep the majority in mind.
So to sum up, Bonjour and UPnp are very similar in nature. Both solve the same problems.
Bonjour is light weight, uses smaller packets, and does not define any device types UPnP uses XML and http, so it is more complex. It defines device types.
Bonjour was created and supported by apple around 2001. UPnP has been around longer since 1999.
Personally it looks like Apple copied UPnP to create Bonjour.

Oh that is a bunch of lies and you know it. MS has never in the recent past added anything to peoples computers without their permission other than patches.
Check your computer for spyware that might have installed something else, or quit trolling
MS got blamed when users opened attachments MS got blamed when users clicked on Yes to Install with ActiveX (I realize the wording could have been better) MS got blamed when Admins did not install patches, Code Red, Slammer etc
MS will always get blamed whether it is their fault or not. However there are always thing you can do in software that help the Technically challenged. It just like a security in an company, you need to account for people that do not know what they are doing, and train/create policies/restrict them.
Been there used it for a while, loved tabs, and other plugins. Hated the occasional crashes, hated having to update every 2-3 weeks. Hated not having audio or video conversations. Hated not having the new features that were part of MSN(expressions etc.). So i switched back.
I agree, hence the longhorn comment. LUA feature is what helps there. On the other hand you can use setuid and setgid with SFU.(j/k i know most people will never install it)
But i also said it was possible, and it is also possible for someone else to write a TCPIP stack and install it for windows. Security is a process you can only try to defend, there are no solutions to make it perfect.
System wide incremental search, you mean like MSN Desktop search. Which does do a terrrific job. However what spotlght does do different is MetaData that it can attach to files and it searches it. This is what most other search engines do not do
MS cannot force a mass user user profile migration to non admin accounts, neither can they prevent virus attacks(already have firewall enables by default, & their email client reject executable attachments). So they decided this would be best solution for now, until hopefully with LH they can force users to run as users and not admins.
I really doubt that worms are going to carry around 2MB payload to install a new TCPIP stack. However i do understand that it is possible. I do belive and use XP everyday, and from my stand point it is an excellent OS that does what i need it to do. I also have an FreeBSD and debian box sitting next to me to do other things as well. One of them being nessus. Fact is if you are a security or network or systems admin you need and have other platforms, and MS knows this.
This move was not designed to protect Windows itself. It was made to protect servers, and other boxes from DDOS etc. And MS is absolutely correct on that. Windows is the only OS to put those restrictions because that is the only OS on 90% of people desktops.
This is a preventative fix, I do not remember but someone did warn MS not to support RAW sockets, but they defended and supported it anyways. Now they are just backtracking after they realize that 99.99% of the population do not need it. The only ones that do need it are Sys admins and network admins, and well they know should know their way around other OSes.
Now that was the dumbest answer i have ever seen. No justification whatsoever for your cliam of XP not designed right.
Microsoft is doing somehting that i do belive is better for 99% of the drones out there that do not need raw TCPIP. However i do think they should make available as a download or on CD a TCP/IP pack that does support raw sockets.
That is a load of Crap. Go look at the linked page. Look the number of moderate and up vulnerabibilies that still gives you about 50% of vulnerabilities.
You I am sure have no proof to back up your statement. Just FUD to help the mindless drones to believe that any MS product is inferior to its opensource counterparts.

Well if you have time, go on to Channel 9 and take at look his interview, including the linux lab itself..
nope they quit making D, they only make S now. Or they soo few that dont make it stores around where i live, or the online stores i look in.
Console looks just fine... Controller, looks good on closeup, terrible from far away....
Color better be white and not Beige....

you mean until longhorn comes around...
I guess technically it would still be alright because longhorn can step down, but why when you can throw a decent X600 in for 100$...

That is true... which does help apple's case

Teh term trolling by itself belives in a view point.
For instance
Windows crashes all the time, and windows sucks. : May be termed insightful, although the statement cannot be proved to be true or false
Linux crashes all the time, and linux sucks. : Will be termed troll, although it cannot be proved to be true or false.
So it is all in your eyes, I laughed at that statement, some mod i guess thought otherwise.

Spyware != Worms & Virus

Well to defend Linspire they do not it anymore.
