  1. Hark, what's that? on Everquest 2 Launches · · Score: 5, Funny

I can hear the paperwork of divorces and welfare being shuffled across the desks of america already.

  2. Huh? on CBS Sees no Journalism in Blogs · · Score: 0

  3. No one saw this coming. on 2004 Election Weirdness Continues · · Score: 1, Insightful

I knew this would happen, you knew this would happen, and I'm pretty sure Kerry knew this would happen. But why would he simply roll over and die less than 24 hours after the election began? Before anything was solidified? The illusion of choice. Your votes mean nothing when the candidate you cast for concedes. They shouldn't be allowed to just Give Up. Fuckers.

Which is it, Music or Movie Sales? And if it's Music, what do Music sales have to do with Movie downloaders?

  8. Tricky. on AOL Subscribers Finding Greener Pastures · · Score: 0
I figured they were hurting after seeing their new ads on "Making the internet better." Maybe we'll finally be rid of this behemoth.

On the brighter side, AOL offers free, permanent services. Simply call them up after registering Without a credit card, and cancel. They'll offer you three months free to test out the service and make up your mind once more. Before this time is up, call back and cancel again. Voila. Three more months free. A close friend of mine did this for just over a year after his broadband was cut off.

With all the tech issues, browser hijackings, and virus scares, I've been learning Linux as a replacement. Wine seems to be supporting most of what I need, and I can't take much more of these insecurities... It's becoming rediculous. Simply going to a page can completely hijack a browser via scripts that download and run .cab or .exe files, and the vast majority of computer users have no idea how to remove or prevent this type of "Espionage." Remember when it was safe to browse the web with a windows based machine? Ah, Memories...

I've been blathering the same information across the office all morning. What freedom of choice do we have when our candidate concedes before the race is even over? Before everything is finally settled? Bush won due to Gore conceding in 2000, now to Kerry conceding in 2004. Does he have bully boys that visit their homes with legal AK47's to convince them? Bush. The worst president to not be elected. Twice. Goddamn.

Spam is actually more popular than alot of people would assume. It's sold at McDonalds in Hawaii, and at 7-11. Personally, I can't stand it. But, locals love it. http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/stories/2002/06 /10/daily22.html "McDonald's says it will serve Spam for breakfast through the end of July and then decide if it is selling well enough to add to a menu that already includes rice, Portuguese sausage (another Hawaii favorite -- Portuguese sailors, mostly from the Canary Islands, were among the first non-indigenous people to take up residence in Hawaii) and saimin. Spam musubi is already sold regularly at 7-Elevens in Hawaii."

Thus far, every single day for the last two weeks, just to check... I've input my address [Maui, Hawaii] into MyPollingPlace.com. When it's actually up. And every single time, I receive this response. You vote at: Sorry, we have not received any information from your precinct. It does list a few phone numbers, but any public service lines on Maui are nigh impossible to get through to. It took me roughly three months of calling constantly to schedule an appointment at the DMV. With the horrors happening in Florida and other states, it's a wonder Elections even function. Yeah, all this is common knowledge, but it's really disappointing to have public servants that are so lax in their duties.
