There's been alot of mention of software and programming, but one of my main passions has been dissecting and rebuilding hardware. Testing all different ways they work with eachother, finding out what the benchmarks with RAM chip X with an nVidia Card, versus an ATI Card, etc. All these little tweaks that modders obsess over are one of my hobbies, and have been since I was a child. From the start, I was taking apart phones, finding out just how loud my mother's liquid cooled 500 watt towers went while she was napping, and taking apart my Tandy 1000. Or finding out that unprotecting a 5 1/4 game disc to save my games to it instead of my six pound 40MB HDD was a bad idea. All these experimentations have made my life alot more interesting over the couple decades I've been on this planet, and I plan to pick up all graveyard parts I can find to give to my daughter when she's old enough. Because taking things apart is fun.:)
One step closer to my direct cerebral connection into WoW while I'm autopiloted to and from work, groomed via robot, and fed intravenously my suppliment of caffeine and nutrients. Life will be grand.
But with all the lawsuits occuring, I have an itch to become a lawyer. In the USA, more and more as time progresses, Everything is being solved with lawsuits, or the class action variety. Shit, in the next few years, it'll probably be the highest grossing profession. I hate to sell out, but finding IT work is getting harder and harder.
Every single day I see some news on Google, I die a little inside. When their stock went public at around 80 a share, if memory serves, I wished I had about 100 large to invest in them. I Knew they'd do well. Now, about six months later, they've more than doubled their stock value, and still rising. Something like 190 a share. Damn glass ceilings [Need money to make money]. Bitching aside, kudos to Google and it's innovations. Interesting.
Yep. Dead links, dead forms, dead everything. Successfully slashdotted. Damn!
Forgive me for feeling a bit defeatist...

At least it'll sate us. Although, I know that regardless of what we think, people will go on screaming about how Doom 3 makes children kill others, and feel unwholesome feelings. Not just, you know, entertainment. Like the episodes of CSI, or the Autopsy Revealed. They never listen, regardless of how much sense you make. These are people who say the Dinosaurs are "Tests to our Faith." They only hear what they want to hear.
But thanks for throwing a punch for the rest of us.:)
Heat? That's it? Too bad we can't stack two or three on there. No more birth control or rubbers! Who uses a laptop on their lap, anyway? I use knees, or 95% of the time tables. I don't see how the scrotum would react to this any different than temprature changes in the climate. If it's 120 outside, they just receed into your body to reach the right temprature. You know, Pool syndrome. If your laptop's is the variable that influences temprature, why would anything different happen?
The Do Not Call list has a good premise, but it's under the grounds of being fucked with, and considering all our legal battles, it's still in the works, isn't it? Hopefully it'll do Canada better than it's done in the States... but... with all the red tape, I've hardly received less calls. Shit, most are from the services I'm subscribed to offering me more of their crap. Jimmy Joe Bob in bumfuck Idaho telling me I can save twelve cents on my long distance bill isn't as irritating as my phone company calling me and telling me I can do the same if I switch plans. I've cancelled services more than once for that shit.
Never heard of Home Movies. Thanks, I'll check it out. ATHF has become redundant to me as of late, though I laughed my ass off the first few times. Same with Harvey. I try to stick around for Mission Hill usually; Very overlooked show. But, usually just forget 'cause it ain't in the weekday rotations.
I thought of Venture brothers immediately after hitting reply... I love that show. Good points, however. I simply love "Shock value humor" And though Stewie is really alike Brain, I identify with Stewie on alot of levels and laugh at him alot more than I did with Brain.
Morons in programming. All this leaves is... Basically... Adult Swim. And even then, all I watch is Futurama and Family Guy. I'm selling my damn TV if they cancel them. Even if they Are re-runs.
Yes! Let's remain with our archaic technologies, and deny the future! And considering they're dropping services in the midwest, the "Red States," I'm not surprised. Brilliant fucking idea. Hopefully AOL will be bankrupt in a year and we'll actually have to go to Pier 1 or something to buy our coasters. And they suck as coasters to begin with, too. I've got finger sized marks on my furniture where the sweat from the glass pooled in the center of the "OMG SIX YEARS OF AOL FREE OMG!" CD's.
I'm not satisfied with a game that costs me around $300 [75 SWG, 30 JTL, 180 @ 15 a month] for the first year I play it. Especially if it's mundane grind bullshit. Even if it Is entertaining for awhile.
I wish there was something like this around when I was young, and my first OS would have been Linux. Would have saved me alot of time in learning an OS I've grown to despise over the years. Kudos.
I haven't seen a good reason to get a DS yet. SP's are smaller, lighter, and I don't see many improvements in the DS over it. Ooo. Touch screen. Ooo. Two screens. More to look at and distract me. Unless a new RPG is released on it that won't run on an SP, I'm sticking with what I have. I'm entirely satisfied with my little black SP.:) What do you guys think?
I love Firefox, but I need it to have a similar feature to Avant... wherein it can be minimized and hidden in the Tray/Time area. Saved me alot of time in closing and opening windows. Maybe I'll ask for it on the boards. Hmm.
"Whassat Boss? *Minimizes browser to tray* Nah, just working on the company project. Not browsing Slashdot. Waste company time? Perish the thought."
I was fine until I read that last line. "or one step closer to state regulation or taxation of IP networks?" Though it seems like an impossibility, what if? This is a small victory in our favor, but what happens when more services are linked across broadband? Only a few more will pass until the States start freaking out at the FCC who will pass in their favor with enough pressure. It worked for the conservative religious groups when it came down to words, and showing more than a third of an ass. It's only a matter of time, and now I'm back in the conspiracy/big brother mindset. Damnit.
Fifteen bucks more out of my wallet per month, and fifteen hours more taken out of my days. Maybe I should just hand in my resignation now and avoid getting laid off like last time. *Shudders about SWG*

Now if I could just get over that whole hemophobia thing.

A tinfoil hat for my house! WiFi kept in, Mind Control Rays kept out!

The beginning of the end.
Do you have any suggestions for those of us who plan on starting our own webcomics?

Too... many games... to... be played...
Spock... I... Can't... Go On.
So my plan to get the Alpha Beta Letterman's Jacket and replace my Lambda Lambda Lambda one will fail? Oh noes. I'm doomed!

It's free? Shit, and I already signed up for Vonage. =/
