    But an old iMac that will sit happily on you network and take care of those needs is like fifty bucks so it's a no brainer.

    Yes, but only up to the amount of mechanical power being consumed by the alternator and this is going to be well under the quoted 10% number. This makes the useful price point for a normal car much lower.

    Only the satellite monitoring is changing, the regular ELT monitoring is staying the same for traditional ELTs.
    The 406 ELTs are great but are still in a "REV A" condition in such as they are expensive but are quickly getting smaller and less expensive.
    Soon they will be competitive in price and will take over the market naturally.

    This is a true statement.
    Unfortunately the solutions being proposed penalize the people who do work hard and have self control and give the money to the ones who least deserve it.
    Trying to find ways to help those who bought more house than they could afford or mad bad investments on the backs of the ones who were responsible makes me want to puke.

    Please quit repeating this falsehood.
    1 quart of gasoline does not magically make the same amount of pollution when burned as ten gallons.
    There is one small component of the emissions that the lawnmower makes more of because new cars emit almost none of that component.
    Not more overall emissions.
