What a stupid thing to do to an expensive car. Once Tesla detects this (and they will) they will lose all access to updates and support destroying any resale value and very likely causing the car to brick itself due to "safety concerns".
How about we get back to your snarky ass when "sales start dying"?
They just announced that Minecraft now has 70M+ active players each week. If releasing the code was 100% based on Notch's statment, they would not even have released what they just did.
Yea, it is only rumor, but Google is about profit and getting data wherever they can. They will happily let you run Windows on their Chromebooks and you can bet that data-gathering will be built in the drives/platform-support. It's a win-win for MS and Google.
I think the OP is over thinking the DropBox decision. It comes down to one simple thing, not enough of their target audience are using Linux as a client OS.
> The whole Digital Rights Management (DRM) train started with music and films
How can I take any of it seriously when they start with a statement like that? Computer games had DRM, (often based on looking up things in the manual) long before folks with dealing with digital music and video.
You are an idiot. My smartwatch allows me to safely send and receive messages at a stop light on my motorcycle. That alone is worth what I paid for it.
> You may just feel a connection to the more than 7 billion other people on this planet we share this ride with.
If you want to feel a connection with the others on the planet, how about you take the millions this BS cost and use it to help bring clean water to the millions of people around the world that do not have access to it today?
Because you have to walk before you can run. When you buy/enable the feature you opt in to Tesla mining the data so we can someday actually have autonomous cars.
Even slashdot, by the nature of AC posts vs logged-in posts, has shown that when people feel anonymous they are more likely to be assholes. It would be fine with me if Real Names were optional, but I was able to completely block anyone not using theirs.
It has integrated headphones, AND a headphone jack. The integrated version is fine for many, and adds almost nothing to the weight. Best of both worlds.
Quite a while ago OneDrive started using streams on objects for sync metadata. I assume that is a requirement for optimized syncing. To the best of my knowledge, streams are not available on Fat32 or exFat.
In my opinion any law that is that subjective should be considered unconstitutional since it can easily abused by individual law enforcement to harass those they do not like.
This is not news.. If your computer came with a license for a given version of Windows, you have always been able to reinstall that versions of Windows.
We need more info. Just because iFixit could not figure out how to take it apart nondestructively dose not mean it cant be done. Remember they are the same guys that couldn't get the cover off the Rift sensor/camera with out damage and all it took unscrewing the mounting post.
Don't get me wrong, they do a great job, but they are flying blind.
Screw you.. someone having a good experience with a product you don't like doesn't make them a shill, but calling them one does make you an ass-hat.
I am on my 4th surface device. Surface RT, Surface Pro 1, Surface Pro 3 and finally a refurbished Surface Pro 4. None of them were perfect, but I used them daily (mostly with the keyboard and a Logitech TrackMan Marble). With the exception of the SP3 power brick that was replaced under warrantee, I never had any trouble with the hardware. None of them were perfect but except for the underpowered integrated video SP3 Wi-Fi sleep issues that were finally fixed with a driver/firmware update, I have no real complaints about them. I use my devices 4 to 6 hours a day, mostly with the keyboard like a traditional laptop and I have not had any issues with the keyboard showing wear or not working.
No, he admitted **he** was duped. Not at all the same thing.

Yea, Chrome OS is such a threat to Windows, that Google is adding the ability to run Windows to Chromebooks. /s

They still call the *Backspace* key *Delete* so they obviously don't care about keyboards. :)

Don't be an ass. It would only be a rip-off if hid the specs. If people buy it knowing the real specs, it is not a rip off.

What a bunch of FUD...
> an attacker with access to the computer could have enabled it to record what a user was typing
An attacker with access to the computer could just install a keylogger. This is a non-issue.
Where does it say that?
I have had a S7 and GearVR since last year, and I will jump at the chance to do it without using my phone or buying a new S7.
> VR is just as dead as computers are to me.
Then why are you not only reading, but posting on slashdot?
Apple has made billions by doing what has already been done only better. That all it will take to be at least a marginal winner.

> a large part of the expense for LAST YEAR'S VR is the accurate position tracking.
FTFY
Inside-out tracking is mostly solved and being reduced to dedicated, soon to be commodity silicon. Tracking should be great.

Well, ignore my comment. The only stream I found in my OneDrive folder was on the root folder object.
