Seems quite a childish post. The internet is not an American resource it is a global one (as you pointed out), it should therefore be managed globally.
For example, the modern game of football was invented by the English. This is now run as a global sport. Why should the internet be any different?
But it's an important point nonetheless. The problem is worse in University. For example, yes we could have OpenOffice (pending testing), Firefox (not until it can be packaged properly and its updates are updates instead of full remove/installs), but not Linux. I should clarify this, we have dual boot systems both for staff and the labs, but the labs will always have Windows on them for the simple fact that not one of the 450 applications we have installed, for one department alone, work under Linux. In other departments there are some that work under Linux and others that only run under Linux, but they are in the minority.
My memory from school is that we had no OS dependent applications, though times have changed and I suspect they are in the same situation that we are.
What? It's bad enough that/. is being used by people too lazy to use google but now health questions? Shouldn't you be asking someone like, I dunno, your friggin doctor?
How is this +5, interesting? It's a bit of a silly statement to make (sorry).
They do not have a choice not to actively patch, unless they want to see an increase in the number of migrations to Linux/Mac/etc.
This assumes that user education will stagnate. I would hazard a guess that in ten years time the average user will be better at looking after their own machine than they are now. It is also conceivable that in a decade Operating Systems will be easier to manage...
Do you think that users would trust Telcos with their machines and personal data?
"Military robots and machine guns" doesn't really have the same ring as "bikini girls and machine guns", nor does it promote the same imagery unless they look like the TX from T3.
Nvidia has released the 7500 super-duper-ultra-gives-you-a-blowjob.
But it's irrelevant since you won't be able to buy it anywhere. Hey, anything to bump up our stock prices right?
But seriously, thank you very much for everything that you have done and the community that has grown out of it.
Since they would be using WSUS (free) with which they can decline/delay the update of IE7 throughout the organisation.
It's been released as an Update Rollup not a Critical Update, so it's not being 'force-fed'.
Can he countersue? I know I'd be pretty peeved if I lost my PCs for x months and didn't get any compensation for it.
Air has been found to be important.
Seriously, slow Friday?

Once the sheeple slowly realise they are getting the shaft and bleat about it.
here
I think...
The earth is round.
I can't bring myself to cheer wildly for Microsoft but I can do a muted golf-clap.
*clap**clap*

The threat of a fine is surely pointless?
Unless it's passed onto the family as 'inherited debt' in which case it's nothing more than a money raising exercise.
Is there a viagra sticker on the side of that puppy?

we won't have to ask why...
They need to fix the links asap.
The 'Free Download' link at http://www.mozilla.org/ is for 1.0 not 1.0.1
You may not be paying for it with money, but you still end up 'paying' for it.
"Liar, liar, pants on fire!"

"More than 666 splash screens have been submitted."
Is Satan into design now?

I recommend that you buy some ear muffs to deal with the noise.
