Quite a few of them do actually use "chips". Instead of re-writing all the firmware, they simply adjust the sensor inputs going into the ecu to adjust the output. Want more fuel? Tell the ecu that there is more air going in.

Right Click on c-drive to view the properties and work out how much free space is on HER drive, auto kick and logout. Open control panel on her laptop, auto kick and logout. Open a command prompt on her laptop: auto logout. Basically anything she needs to do that doesnt involve MS Office cant be done while she's logged into the network.
