Let me be among the first to chime in... Their spam filter sucks big time.
For the past 6-8 months (or more), I've been getting spam for all sorts of services that originate from the same sender. They use the SAME template! It's just a series of images, with THE ONLY TEXT being "Can't see Images? Click here". I marked such sh!t as Junk countless times, only to come back the next day to seeing some of the same ones in my Junk filter, some in my Inbox.
It doesn't matter that the subject line is the same - advertising for Match.com or some other crap, even though I mark it as Junk, apparently Hotmail does not even pretend to do anything about it. Same subject line, same template with images only.
THIS IS BASIC SPAM FILTER 101, if there is no address, or Unsubscribe in the newsletter, or a poor text to image ratio, IT IS SPAM! What the hell is their spam team researching?
And it has the most worthless spam configuration settings: all off, the useless "ON" setting, or the idiotic "exclusive" from your contacts only.
Because it breaks the browsing experience on just about every site out there, and manually having to white-list each site is a painful process that's a usability nightmare.
I'm sorry but what is RIM not changing? Just about everything? Hardware? Check. Software? Check.
RIM already has the enterprise market, and it is the most feature-rich mobile enterprise solution. Apple is inching to get there, but they are still a ways off.
While Apple is inching into enterprise, RIM is inching into consumer. They started at different positions, but attempting to cover both segments. Having said that, RIM will always be enterprise at heart, and apple will always be consumer at heart. Apple isn't known to be a particularly enterprise-oriented solutions provider.
[this coming from an iPhone user]
P.S. Ironically, perhaps Apple could fix their iPhone to be more consumer friendly by introducing such basic features as ringer profile management. And when it eventually does build it into the OS, not hail it as the greatest Cupertino invention for a smart phone, but humbly acknowledge its absence as a brain fart.
Because a user shouldn't have to read 15,000 word legal documents to understand what could be written in layman's terms in a point form spanning just a few pages.
In addition to full legal documentation, there should be a brief summary in point form for the average user to get a basic understanding of what's what. If he then wishes, he can gain more information from the legalese docs, or otherwise agree.
It's interesting that even now carriers can deduct bandwidth you use to connect through their app to get some help/assistance or account info. Akin to calling *611 which will not be counted toward your monthly minute allowance.
Which means Carrier IQ could be using up loads of bandwidth, but your carrier will not count it against your limit.
The only way to tell is to install a 3rd party bandwidth usage monitor, or by your battery life.
I opted for Ethernet over powerline in my house, to run from 1 floor down to another. Performance / lag times vary, and it is not as good as I would expect. Sometimes there is certain "lag".
It depends a lot on the wiring in the house, so the system is sensitive in that way. The wiring in my house is good, though.
Just wait to install updates, service packs,.NET frameworks (or their future equivalent), etc, etc... A fresh XP installation books in less than 20 seconds on my machine, more like 15. Install updates, drivers,.NET frameworks...
And it's nearly 2 minutes on my, relatively lean, machine (nothing in startup), with decent modern hardware (Intel 9550 Quado Core CPU, 4 GB RAM, 10K RPM hard disk). That's all the way past the login process until I can USE the machine. This thing should fly.
Ubuntu loads in 30 seconds, fully ready to be used.
There is no mass exodus to iPhone / Android. Stop spreading hysteria/fud.
RIM is doing reasonably well and only will improve over the next few years. Their products are actually quite good, though the media continues to give it lukewarm reception. There are many shortcomings of iPhone that BB excels at (I would know, I own both devices).
As of right now, there is no replacement for BlackBerry. No other phone is as secure AND gives its users such fine-grained control over firewall and other app access to its resources.
Interestingly some leading scientists of the day dismissed the theory because it came from a priest, it "smelled of creationism".
Another reason why scientists did not like the Big Bang theory is because it points to a beginning of sorts. And that beginning must be caused by something, or... someone.
There was a lot of opposition because it was perceived to blow holes in static/creator-less universe theory that they were proponents of.
So we all seem to feel that we have come a long way in terms of our morals. Morals being subjective of course. I don't necessarily disagree with that in general, the Western society has vast improvements in terms of interpersonal relationship and treatment of fellow humans.
But.
In reality, slavery is shaping up again, and picking up momentum behind the scenes, fast. It is simply taking a different form. It will be a lot more apparent in 10-20 years. And it won't discriminate against races, only classes.
1. Which was the point of sacrifices, to cover the shortcomings. Israelite sacrifices were to serve as a reminder that they need a deliverer, because animal sacrifices were not sufficient - they were temporary. Hence the need for a Messiah, the ultimate sacrifice, after which animal sacrifices would cease.
2. Eternal torture is an invention of paganism and perfected by various churches, mainly the official church of the Holy Roman Empire. This teaching is not unique to Christendom, and far predates it. Jews didn't believe in hellfire, neither did the first century Christians. Moreover, hellfire and eternal torture is NOT a teaching of the BIble, but the ignorant masses keep regurgitating it - of course, it is far easier to believe a church authority than to do research yourself.
3. Romans 6:23, Ezekiel 18:4 clearly state that death pays for all sin. We all die, and at death we are even, a clean slate so to speak. There are many other verses too.
4. You can worship Lucifer, who many portray to be the liberator of mankind, who supposedly gave man intellect in the garden of Eden and freed mankind from unjust, vindictive God. So far, the ones who turned to his worship ended up dead.
And finally, how about doing some research before attempting to criticize something. So far you relisted false doctrines of Christianity. You need to recognize that church/organized religion is a political entity. Don't trust it any more than the UN or your government or your neighbor at face value. Prove to yourself what to believe, you will feel better for not being an ignoramus.
We keep reading about how crazed the USA has become with its DMCA, now the Homeland Security taking down domains, and ICE strongarming in areas where it would seem it should have no jurisdiction or business.
The reason is that it's very convenient for the government to have extremely powerful accusatory tactics and means of getting to and punishing people. You keep complaining, asking why RIAA/MPAA has so much power, but it's simply because it's convenient for the gov't for this seemingly private entity to exercise such power.
Under the guise of anything, the gov't can search your homes without a warrant, can pull over and fingerprint you/iris scan you, can confiscate your electronic equipment, etc, etc... without due process.
All these organizations and laws (DMCA, PROTECT IP) are simply a tool, a back-door way into your homes and private lives.
Once you understand that, you'll also understand why such organizations have such tremendous power. It's one and the same - they work in a symbiotic relationship with the gov't, which is working toward complete control.
Why not go all the way and make individual police unrecognizable? That way they will never have to constrain their actions, because they can always say "it wasn't me, but some other masked officer." No badge number, no face, no accountability.
They already did it at G20 in Toronto, Canada in 2010.
I don't think that people who are worried about their privacy are concerned about being tracked via their cell phone. What privacy advocates are concerned about is the erosion of due process.
Having tracking information on a local device opens the potential for more risk (theft) and abuse (rogue law enforcement). There shouldn't be any reason why any police officer can get that information simply for pulling you over.
This is very simple to understand. No human being should be entitled to your tracking data without a good reason. You must be very naive to trust everyone with such data, which should not be collected in the first place.
And while we're on the subject, the Telco should not be storing your location data. It should be compelled to do so ONLY once a warrant is issued, from which point forward the Telco can begin recording the location of the target - helpful in criminal investigations, for example, or to build a case.
Remember when Google said that its collection of WiFi hotspots as part of Google Maps was "accidental"?
Now we learn that the Android phone is still collecting hotspot data and sending it to Google. Doesn't seem so accidental after all.
Why does any company need this? There is no advertising that is tied to your hotspot/MAC address.
What can they do with that information, and what can law enforcement do with it?
Or, would anyone miss them?
;)
That was 120 years until the flood were to come, not 120 years for people's length of life.
Basically, it means "120 years from now, the flood will come"

The only reason was either incompetence, or a back-room deal with China that caused Canada to turn their eye the other way.
One has to wonder why Huawei rose to prominence so drastically... Where else have they been "researching" their technology?
Because it breaks the browsing experience on just about every site out there, and manually having to white-list each site is a painful process that's a usability nightmare.

Elohim is a title, and translated means "The God", or "The True God". notice the definitive article.
Yahweh or Jehovah (YHWH) is not a title - it is a name, and refers to the name of Elohim.
Really? The standing ovation of Congress was bad treatment? The Congress applauds Netanyahu more than its own president.
While you're at it, you conveniently leave out Joe Biden's visit to Israel and what a slap in the face to the US that was!
You're either extremely ignorant, or extremely biased. The end result is the same.
The big question is, why is there a dislike of Netanyahu? Nothing happens without reason.

Which religion's hell do you mean? Certainly not Judeo-Christian. Neither Judaism nor true Christianity teach / taught about hell.
Hellfire is not a Biblical teaching. There is no vindictive God who tortures people in hell for all eternity. That is an invention.

Plenty of people get excited about BlackBerries, many are in the business world, and many are in the consumer world.
Neither iOS nor Android have rendered RIM product(s) irrelevant, and won't for a while. Stop spreading untruth.
There's one area in which iOS/Android cannot even touch the BlackBerry - security.
Of course, you know all that. And choose to ignore it and spread your FUD.
