    One extremely nasty stop and go traffic jam or unexpected detour and I could be dead on the side of the road.
    And you can't walk or hitch a ride to get a can of gas to resume your trip. Either you pay for a tow or you come back with a generator. This is why hybrids make more sense.
    Until the car + gps + google can actually warn you that you're not going to make it to the next charging station, electric cars only make sense for very local trips.

    If people knew that the only thing preventing them from living 1,000 years was an accident of some sort, it seems logical that most would become very cautious and averse to bodily risk. Who in their right mind would volunteer for combat duty? Experimental aircraft? Sky-diving? Driving a car?

    Boeing has had bikes for literally decades. They're handy for quickly getting around a facility, often just from one end of a building to the other end. Big buildings.

    If she's in your arms, she is showing that she considers you to be a very close friend. With her words, though, she is dropping the clue-bomb and you are dodging it. If you'd like a closer relationship with her, take a few deep breaths (but not so many that you pass out), gather your courage, and tell her how you feel. Scary? Oh, baby. You could be mistaken, but then again, you'll never know unless you take the leap. If you're wondering about it now, down the road you'll regret not having tried.

    Believe it or not, the Prius is classed as a mid-size. If you've never been in one, try it. There is more legroom and headroom in the back than most other mid-size cars. It may be a tad narrower than some mid-sizes.
    It may be light (as in weight), but is not a wimpy car. It has more torque than a Ford F150 and at low speeds, acceleration is generally limited by traction. Acceleration at highway speeds is as good as other mid-sizes, if not better.

    I'm running AbiWord and Spread32 on an XP Pro eeePC. Not a suite, but fast and small.

    OpenOffice is too big and slow compared to MS Office 2003. Office 2003 ran fine on the eeePC, but it was way too big for what I actually need.

    Boy howdy. Thirty-odd years ago, my uncle was a traveling salesman in west Texas and one fine day he slammed into the back of a stopped Greyhound. He survived but the only thing he remembered was being in sort of a catatonic state before the crash. He drove several hours every day and couldn't recall much of it.
