Not true. Those CDs had abridged versions, and sucked. Even 2CD versions didn:t hold the complete text. Why pay for something that isn't complete? Most likely I wouldn't find what I want and go to the library for the bound encyclopedias.
Sell a COMPLETE version, even w/o movies, interactive pictures, etc, and maybe someone woulda looked. Too late now tho.
A better example is the middle scroll button. I saw them working in Taiwan mice about 3-4yrs before MS made them. Special drivers so you could scroll in ALL apps. When MS came out with theirs, the scroll only worked in its NEW office and IE programs. They couldn't even retrofit the functionality into its basic windows widgets despite owning the OS.
How do they have such a big block on the ATM? I saw a little thing on my ATM once, like a flat cover on the card insert, which was usually bevelled. Not sure if that was sth too..
If only 40% make money, and this is the long term trend, shouldn't their accountants be telling them to stop making the other 60%. Someone should be fired here.
1) My PC WAS bundled/pre-installed with both Quicktime and Realplayer
2) WMP doesn't load on startup. QT and RP do. I would prefer not having them installed in the 1st place. WMP acts like a program. QT and RP act like virii.
All this talk, when is someone going to hand out punishment for the NS/IE thing? Why are we moving onto insignificant items like WMP already? Did the US end up doing anything to MS or was it all dropped?
If you read the original properly, you will know that I meant you shouldn't worry yourself to death about what MS may do N years in the future. Nothing to do with instant gratification. I don't know where you got that from. Maybe you should stay at home worrying about what each and every company may do with each and every patent they have in the next 100yrs then instead of GETTING ON WITH YOUR LIFE!
Or maybe you can do something useful NOW and fix TODAY's problems instead of trying to fix TOMORROW's.
OK i guess, but this means there's little point making it faster cuz it'll still be bottlenecked by the seeks - which are still the same over the past n years.
Linux can't get a unified GUI and set of GUI widgets after all these years in an industry decades old. The PDA has only become popular in the past 5yrs or so. What chance do OSS have in making a competitive, easy to use product with a version deserving of a 1.0 or more?
Sure, choice is great, freedom is great, blah blah blah. Meanwhile I'm writing Japanese on my PDA and waiting for 4yr old bugs in Mozilla to be fixed.
Better to have something now that will be broken later, than to have something broken now and forevermore.

where can I get one?
Wonder if it rubs off. Remember the first AU plastic $10 notes? They rubbed off...

Is it reasonable to be asked for your say drivers license if a cop comes to your car? I had always assumed we were to show it.

But shooting and killing people in games is still OK right?
What about that magnetic somehting or other we heard about last year?
Tho, I guess Jp co.s are less known for producing vaporware than US ones...
Still, Ill believe it when I see it - for less than the cost of flash mem.
we have a hundred years left. If it ain't discovered in that time, maybe it wasn't worth discovering.

Yeh, say that about any company.
So what? In the long run, we're all dead.
can you ask for responsibility then expect to pick only easy jobs?
take the job and turn the team around! you WILL be overlooked next time if you can't show some determination.
Why are Moz developers going to FF and starting from the ground up again? Shall we wait another 4yrs like when Netscape decided to start over?
I tried FF, I prefer Moz.

Great, so now we can't drink WATER?
a faster CPU. doesn't that just mean any instabilities will appear faster?
Why can't I copy a 100mb file from C:\bob to C:\fred at more than aobut 5mb/s?
All this claim of speed, in theory, and I get speeds that wouldn't even max out usb2.
In Thailand, WinXP IS free...

Does anyone have much exp with GPS receivers? I've been thinking of getting one for my PDA but all the specs boggle my mind.
Plus, I want to be able to use maps in diff. countries I travel to...
Tom's a long winded person who tries to impress by using big words unnecessarily.
Worse is "Your mail might have a virus!" auto-replies when you send legit zip files etc, forcing you to go signup on a link somewhere.
What happened to the US case? I remember something about guilty, then something about everything is over
what better way to an advertising money than to get your site /.'ed though?
