    How do you actually calculate PI?

    I thot it was an irrational number, that could not be represented fully in any form. Thus you wouldn't be able to 'calculate' it?

    Or, don't tell me they drew a really good circle and got to measuring it's circumference etc.....

    Why is it whenever a disaster happens, the 'precautions' ppl take have nothing to do with the original incident?

    Anyway, I thot the most likely type of attack on a subway would be a normal bomb (non-nuclear), or biological...

    That's the problem

    It's too hard to get a problem noticed by someone who has the skills to fix it.

    Say I have a problem with feature X because of my condition Y. Unless I can find a developer with the condition Y, it's going to be marked WONTFIX or for future release v5.0 or whatnot.

    There's no sense of responsibility there, cuz they're not paid. And because they're not paid, with any criticism, users are treated like ungrateful bastards who should shut up.

    world's best browser? More like a good browser in a world of crappy browsers.

    There are so many usability problems. Why don't many dialogs remember their size and positions? Why can't I answer Yes/No dialogs with the keyboard, but have to reach for my mouse? Think of the effort adding an extra & to markers...

    Too bad OS developers are too cool for fixing small things like this. That's the problem. When there are so many developers, everyone thinks someone else will get around to doing it. Plus nobody can force you to fix things if you don't feel like it.

    Until these and many other problems are solved, the average user isn't going to care about security flaws. If they did IE wouldn't have 90% of the market, would they?

    Solve a lotta probs.

    1)normal ppl dunno how to use DOS nowadays anyway
    2)ppl using DOS prolly use unix too
    3)it sux to try to remember diff sets of commands
    4)ppl will stop complaining how crap DOS is compared to unix

    Hmm.. Nation that doesn't produce software, nation that can buy CDs for $5 instead of importing the same thing from the US for $1000. How is this disastrous to their nation in the long run?

    Don't you know it's not even illegal in some countries? Is a kid in China earning $100/mth going to learn Oracle by using 3yrs of savings? I don't think so.

    What makes you think a central server cannot be hacked? The same thing that makes a central server hackproof can prolly make the card hackproof too.

    Anyway, the way things have gone in the past any and all systems will prolly be implemented with security flaws for a few years.

    Being able to burn all those formats is great, but who really needs it?

    You may need to READ all the formats from different sources, but unless you're going to know exactly what your receipients use, you'll prolly just end up burning to CDR.
