except that the three computers i've got kde4 on don't appear to do that, at all. there's something different about your setup (my guess would be something with fonts).
What i would do is use a couple of these, and store some kind of ECC on them with the real data, so that if you didn't get a single good one out of it, you might be able to use the ECC to identify good parts of things and try to rebuild the correct one from all the parts.
i'd also look to filling the container with some kind of inert heavy gas, something like krypton maybe (dunno how hard that would be to procure though)
a properly configured distro using gtk-qt (or qgtkstyle if you use gnome) doesn't have the problem of things looking different, as far as different configurations i agree completely. As for the l10n and i18n i don't believe that matters at all as there isn't a standard for any other platform as far as i know (i could be wrong about OSX)
I've always heard that one as
Two hydrogen atoms are walking around and all of the sudden one of them says, "I think I've just lost my electron!"
The other replies, "Are you sure?"
The first says, "I'm positive!"
you only have to distribute your source if you're linking against other gpl code. I haven't looked at the actual product but from what i saw on their site they're just distributing an unmodified qemu with a nice gui to run it. this means that since they're not linking against it (if they are in fact doing it this way) they wouldn't need to release anything from a legal standpoint, though they do need to have some kind of notice about the license of qemu and where to get its source IIRC.
well as far as stationary ones go, you wouldn't have to worry about the gyroscopic effects at all, but the rest of them would be pretty close to the problems with them i would think. You'd have to build gigantic ones to be able to store enough energy, so then you get the problem of how to mount them. and then with so much mass, they'll probably end up destroying bearings pretty fast depending on how you mount them.
as far as giant ones, my understanding is that they can't scale like that, but as far as replacement bulbs go for normal light fixtures, google brings up this, http://www.theledlight.com/ i'm sure there are LOTS of others too.
If you purchased a CD, would you kick up a shitstorm about not being able to play that back on your walkman?.. probably not. You'd just get your tapedeck and record the CD straight to tape.
except you just said you'd do exactly what he wants to do back in the 80's!
except that the letters for subpeana have to be witnessed that the person served actually did recieve them, e.g. in the mail isn't good enough to prove that the person they were intended for actually got them. IANAL.
antimatter has a normal mass, all that is different is that its charge is the opposite of normal matter
i'm wondering how long there's gonna be trolls about this thing.
i think in this case the children were doing just a little too much thinking of the children....
and just HOW else did you think they whoop Aquaman's butt?
as to the Vicodin thing, Ibuprofen doesn't do a thing for pain in me, (works well for inflamation though)
If that's English 3.0, then I loathe to think what English 3.11 For WorkGroups will bring us.

not having used it but just went to look at it i can't say if this is a viable alternative. What about just using Google Docs?
Astronomy
thats been in there for a long time, not just in 2.6.28

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SATA#Features Actually SATA is supposed to support hotswapping of drives, i've never actually tried though.

well the real solution to this would be a FOSS project, but the ability to buy a guarantee from some company like that still.

my guess would have to be https and the like.
sounds almost like Xnest but without the "nest" (e.g. window), kinda neat.

if its anything like other coatings, certain things like oils will get on it and you'll never get them out.
