    My rooted my touch 4g, running droidwall in white list mode also makes this basically non existent. Anything not approved gets no network access,i can also choose to limit just 3g, just wifi or both.

    except the only way to load an app on iDevice is via the app store, so if i want to sell an app for iDevices, i have to go through them. At least i can side load on android.

    Evaporative coolers AKA "Swamp coolers". They would doubly good in places where to need to raise the humidity anyways.

    evaporative coolers, as show in the video linked in the comments will get the temps 75-90% the way to the dew point. Arid desert, has a dew point of what? 70F? I'd bet an evap cooler can get to 75-80 degrees leaving air temp with no problems there.

    How do you get power in a "city" that has 13 buildings? I would think that iceland would be better, a bit warmer granted, but lots and lots of cheep power.

    We are not talking a gas powered generator here, 24/7/365 uninteruptable power in the 100's of kWatts scale...

    desiccant heat wheel heat exchanger, followed by a mechanical cooling solution, and then the dehumidifier in the basement, should save you some energy. As you are getting some "free" pre-cooling/dehumidification whenever you bring in fresh outside air.

    something like the one sold by rotosource, but you'd have to find a residential supplier.

    connectbot[1] does ssh tunnels, and has pubkey support, no sftp though.

    does mkv2vob handle chapters? subtitles? menus? I'm ripping the whole dvd into a single mkv. Also I'm not sure you can shove h264 into a VOB. Maybe you can.

    Well some of us would like to watch our (maybe legal, as i ripped them from dvds i own) h264 in mkv dvd rips on the ps3, or maybe just run a better something for making the PS3 a media center than GameOS. I have 0 interest in pirated games(i'll buy/rent the ones i want to play), yet I'm interested in Gehot's key so maybe i can get Boxee/vlc/xbmc on the ps3, with enough hardware to do 1080P...

    It's more the fact that it was sold with linux support and then had that support yanked out from under it. I'd look on my box from 3 years ago, but i bet it lists "otherOS" somewhere on the box, or in the user manual.I'd say that the removal of that feature or the removal of games, constitues either "theft"(the loss of something of value) or "vandalism" (destruction of private property). Also can you name a modern consumer electronic device that hasn't had linux put on it just for doing it?

    change isn't hard. Start with the sale price, add pennies to get to a 5. then nickels/dimes to quarters, and finally to whole dollars, 5s, 10s, 20s, etc.I can very quickly tell who can do change by hand by the direction in which they pick up up the change.

    As senator Al Franken not only ignored the majority of voters, who opposed health-care insurance reform, he ignored the Constitution of the USA too.

    Citation needed. As for ignoring the majority of voters maybe but i for one support insurance reform and I voted for Fraken, so looks like he's doing what he was asked to do.

    Not only that but Al Franken voted to censor the net.

    This is where a committee voted to allow a bill to be voted on by the senators voted into office by the people... lets see how many votes we can take just to get a bill though. Not saying i agree with COICA, but allowing the bill to hit the floor is not the same as voting for it.

    And seeing as this was for COICA bill, didn't that get almost unanimous support when voted on in the senate?
