It's pretty good, even if you're not into the anime thing. The animation is a little too dark in some areas but other than that it stands up for being almost 20 years old.
They made a decent sequel a few years back, the ending kinda sucked though. They also made a game of it, heard it was just a pretty standard 'run around and slash' game.
The USA does not understand the middle eastern cultures. But somehow they think they can solve whatever using guns. Well, Johnny sure got his gun. I hope someday the citizens of the USA will also se that.
The Middle East does not understand US culture. They think they can solve whatever by flying planes into buildings. Well, Osama will get his someday. Hopefully the Palestinians that were dancing in the street and the religious wackos will see that.
First off I love Howard Stern, but I think the media is blowing it WAY out of proportion.
First, Stern is NOT a Clear Channel employee. If you read the headlines, you'd think they're firing him/taking him off the air. Clear Channel is taking him off the stations they own. That is 6 stations out of 41. Next, people should be mad a the FCC and writing to their congressman about passing such asinine laws. I know everyone loves to hate Clear Channel, but if a syndicated personallity was costing you a boatload of $$, you'd be switching shows as well.
Lastly I don't see how people relate this to censorship. A radio conglomerate dropping your syndicated show for finacial risks isn't exactly "The Man" trying to shut you down and squash your message.
Again, I TOTALLY disagree with all that's going on, I just feel the news outlets are mis-representing what's going on.
I saw a while ago (On 60 Minutes I think) that the govt. never paid the outragous prices listed in the ??GAO?? reports. It was just a swell way to hide the "Intelligence Community's" budget. The $500.00 hammer was probably $25 - Hammer, $475 - Funds to overthrow random central american government.
I used to be a Dem. (Lieberman Supporter) until all this conspiracy crap from the the Dean-bots. I guess that what this country has come to when people get there news from comedians.
-A Commodore 64, 64C, or 128 computer. -A 300 or 1200 baud Commodore-compatible modem. -A TV or any Commodore-compatible monitor. -A Commodore 1541 or 1571 disk drive. Note that Blue Chip, MSD and Enhancer 2000 disk drives are not Q-Link compatible. -Your telephone line.
Anyone who is posting AC because they think they'd get targeted under the Patriot Act are idiots. If all the Bush-haters were removed there would be nothing left in this site. The Patriot Act is a flaming pile of crap, but if you think it's the same as being under a fascist regime you obviously have never picked up a history book.
Probably because NASA and the military share so much technology. We wouldn't have had the Apollo missions if the Russians weren't doing it and we weren't trying to build better ICBMs.
Whatever it is, it keeps reminding me of Kate Winslet's "Rose" character from Titanic and I'm about to put a screwdriver in my ear because of it.
Sooooo... a live action Evangelion. Well we'll have to take out Asuka's sexuality, since she's under age. We'll have to remove all the human-human relationship subplots (the best part of the anime IMOP) since they all won't fit in a movie. We'll have to americanize everyone, because a person of asian decent can't appear in a film unless he/she fits the Kung-Fu or techno-wizard stereo type. We'll change their names too, sure their names come from Japanese capital ships from WWII to give them more depth, but we're making a one-dimensional picture here. Who knows what they'll be fighting, "angels" the presence of Christian symbols and symbolism are taboo. Maybe we can somehow promote scientology through it.
End of rant. Not that anyone will be able to read this ohter hatn the people reading at -1 thanks to the Dean-bots.
C'Mon people, why haven't I seen The Core on anyone's sh*t list. It was Sci-fi...well fiction at least.
You can hate it on so many levels: -Factually inaccurate -Horrible dialog -I think my grandma has a better understanding of technology (and she's been dead for 15 years) -Armageddon ripoff (Not the greatest piece of work, but the shuttle scenes were great, and it had Steve Buscemi in it) -This movie had better special effects
You make good points, though I do not agree with you 100%.
Afghanistan is a tough one. The US is basically supporting their government, though I don't see a lot of support from elsewhere. I don't see other countries/corporations making huge investments to what I've seen is a land-locked country with very few natural resources. If US did leave, fears that the country would return to what it was would be very justified. I'm not sure what policy would be best for the long term in Afgahnistan, but I do believe what we are doing is pretty decent, all things considered. Hell, we should've helped them out 14 years ago.
Luckily we are there instead of some country that wants to take over and loot their oil. I must ask you why we are mainly being attacked in the region known as the Suni Triangle, why are we not engaged in other regions of the country? If these were everyday citizens, why would they lay their life on the line to fight us when the Iraqi leadership will be taking over in 6 months? Iraq consists of 30 million + people, why are their only bands of guerillas fighting us? Surely with those numbers, we'd be in a non-stop firefight if your average Iraqi had us in their sights.
The democrats arn't going to be sitting down in the street, blocking traffic again now that there hero has been arrested?
I wonder if Michael Moore and Sean Penn will be able to visit him in prison to cheer him up.
I'm sure those mass graves were there BEFORE Saddam came to power.
Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Ask every country in the UN that question, EVERYONE agreed he had them, the dispute was how to get them out of Saddam's hands.
Did we really kill THOUSANDS of innocent civilians!?!? I think we'd be having a much tougher time than we are currently having if we did. We are losing troops everyday and it's a horrible thing, but WE TOOK OVER AN ENTIRE COUNTRY!! I'm astonished with the success we are having, you wouldn't know it from the 24 hour news services though.
Bush and his regime repeatedly lied to the American people and the United Nations about the reasons for attacking Iraq
EVERY UN Member believed that Iraq had some kind of WMD. France, Germany, Russia, China, all of whom opposed our use of force, said straight out that he was in violation of the UN guidelines, they just wanted a different solution to the "go-in-and-tear-down-the-place" one offered by the Bush administration. A SINGLE piece of evidence that was cited ended up being incorrect. This information was given to him by our intelligence service and presented to him as fact. There is no way ANY president would knowing lie about such a thing. To do so would be treason. You don't see any of the Democrat congressmen saying he was lying, and they'd be all over him. For obvious reasons no Republicans are saying it (their "boy" can do no wrong. We only see psudo-intellectuals like Michael Moore saying it.
You don't agree with Bush? Get facts and tell us why. The biggest hurdle for the Dems these days is to get taken seriously. If you lay down in the street during rush hour for a protest, if you go around smashing windows at a anti-WTO rally, if you tell half-truths and present them as facts you are only distancing yourself from others.
Excellent points, but Hitler was actually appointed Chancellor. I remember the whole "being elected" thing from high school, not sure why they didn't get it right.
VERY interesting story, ABC did a nice piece on it when they ran their Our Century mini-series. They re-run it on the History Channel every now and then, not sure if they still do. Had a nice chunk in there on Ed Teller as well.
Plus it won't burn your nuts after about 20 minutes!!
So.. can I spoof my IP address and get my calls billed to my neighbor??
Try Vampire Hunter D.

A commander in chief willing to sacrifice American lives for a people who would be better off left to their own devices?
Really!?!?!
Umm, don't let Sean Penn fool you, life under Saddam wasn't too swell.

Like That Atlantis Flick
And who can forget the Lion King
Disney's first original story in what seemed like forever. How DID they come up with that idea!?!?
How 'bout Natalie Portman trading cards w/ the purchase of hot grits!
Ahhh, there's no justice like angry mob justice.
