It's too bad they used a crappy chip with it (via).
Does look very cool though.
Oh, I forgot, almost every sound card is crap!
(saving up for RME Hammerfall)
If someone is poor and can't afford to go to
college, you can still learn all you need
about computers for nothing, just time and
effort. That is if you're using free software.
Learning to compile mplayer with libdvdcss
is a good start.
I'm a high school drop out and have to
ACTUALLY WORK, you know, physical labour.
It only requires grade four skills, but
still pays $35,000 a year.
Would like to go to college but can't afford
the cut in pay/benefits that come with most
technology jobs these days.
And I won't have to move to India either.
And where are you today? Complaining to people
that don't have it as good as you in Slashdot.
And what did they teach you in college?
They taught you to think you're smart.
A truly smart person would use Xine or Mplayer
and keep the $69 for something worthwhile.
Finally, if someone wants to write software to do something that already exists for free and
wants to get paid for it they can go hungry.
Basically we have to compete with other countries
because corporations and governments have been
taking the money generated here in North America
and investing it in businesses in those countries.
It seems to me to be poor planning to hope that
all the chips will just fall into place once full
"globalization" takes place.
You can only slice the pie so many ways.
You mean educate the people who are letting someone
from Nigeria put money into their bank accounts
while they devise ways to spend it on penis
enlargers and viagra. Go ahead.
Why choose between Gentoo and Anaconda when now you can have both: http://gentoo.vidalinux.com/?q=node/view/35
As a Gentoo user, it's nice to see that they have 1% of Linux's 1%. Sort of the fringe of the fringe.

So who should I give myself up to, Jack Valenti? And if you come to my house aristotle-dude, I'll teach ya what they didn't in college.
Yes, apparently you are the only one. If anyone asks, I tell them my dog ate my license.

How about rpm -e rpm. Makes upgrades very difficult.
Get a good pair of headphones and put on The Who's Tommy or The Allman Brothers Live At The Fillmore East.
You can have my P4 when you pry it from my
cold dead fingers...
Don't know about "friendliest", but definitely Slackware and Gentoo get it right. Everything else seems lame. (Including "debian's latest installer")
Or so the Germans would have you believe.

Un-fucking-believable!
Yes, I for one would not have enough confidence in my masculinity to do what this fine fellow has. And I am thankful for that.
Now all you have left to do is get a President who can pronounce nuclear.
Act dumb. Shouldn't be difficult.
Just remember: When you get out of bed, it's feet first.
I'm sure they were linspired by the linvoices from their legal department.
When we need someone to calculate how many hockey pucks it would take to reach Uranus we'll give him a call.
Please no more comments from people complaining about too many articles claiming this to be the year of Linux. It's getting too silly.
Funny. I had to get the man page out to understand, but funny.
You couldn't have gotten much better, you still read Slashdot!
Me thinks the author makes a critical mistake. Are people escaping reality or REJECTING reality?
